Trying to Get Pregnant

bedding and BBT

I was wondering if anyone has found that your bedding can affect your bbt?  i have tried taking my temperature some in the past but i'm about to try to get very serious about it.  i sleep under a sheet, spread and comforter. Sometimes in the morning I wake up sweaty all over.  So i'm wondering if this might somehow cause an elevated BBT?  Any experience with this or advice? Thanks.

Re: bedding and BBT

  • Sometimes I am hot, sometimes I'm cold.  Doesn't seem to affect it much/at all.

  • I would think that as long as you are as consistent as possible with your sleeping arrangements you should still be able to see the temp shifts.

This. I go to bed loaded with blankets, and if it stays warm outside at night the house warms up and sometimes I wake up drenched in sweat, but my temp can still be low. Sometimes I wake up cold and my temp can still be higher. Doesn't seem to matter what happens with my sleeping arrangements.

This. I sleep with DH, two dogs, a sheet, a comforter and a blanket. There are mornings where I wake up practically suffocating from heat  and others where I'm frozen because someone stole the covers. Don't think it has made a difference.

    This!

    TTC #1 since 10/14/12 // 1/2013: 7DPO blood work revealed low progesterone/luteal phase defect // 2/2013: DH's SA - Normal // BFP 2/25/13 - EDD 10/30/13 Daisypath Anniversary tickers imageimageMy blog!
  • As long as I remain under my covers, I can see a temp shift. However, I have noticed SIGNIFICANT differences in my temperature when I kick my covers off, which happens every once in a while. My temperature will plummet. But, as I said, as long as you are consistently under your covers when you take your temp, you should be fine, sweat or no sweat.

ditto.  some times I've felt so cold/hot I was sure my BBT would reflect it, and it never does.

  • thanks everyone!!
