What did y'all do this weekend?

Did everyone have a nice weekend? What were y'all up to?

We went to a big dog show at the convention center yesterday, and it was AMAZING! DS was in heaven having so many puppies to look at (and pet), and we all had a really good time. We saw soccer-playing dogs, dock-diving dogs, and we got to meet a lot of breeds up close. So fun!

hazel's bday was sunday and she had her dance recital Sunday morning, then my parents took her to see santa.

I had 3 dance recitals on Sunday though. there are over 400 kids at my studio, split up by age into 3 shows all in one day. So I did the backstage managing for that. Basically I stood at the backstage door lining kids up to go on stage for 70 dances! It was a long day. 

Yesterday we had hazel's tutu birthday party at the dance studio. She had a blast dancing and playing with balloons! 

So it was a busy but fun weekend and I'm looking forward to next weekend which will be my first weekend in 2 months that I don't have work and family obligations! I'm going to decorate my tree!

DH and I cleaned house and ran errands and then we had J's bday party Sunday.  I had a minor pregnant lady meltdown about 20 minutes before the party but other than that I kept it together fairly well.  J has to be the most uncooperative birthday boy ever.  He of course refused to nap at all yesterday so was a grouch for his party, screamed when everyone sang happy birthday, and refused to be in the room for present opening.  He got quite a haul of awesome presents and more batman shirts than any one kid should own.  His actual birthday is Tuesday and my IL's are taking him to a special breakfast (since H and I have to work) and then we're taking him to a special dinner and toy r us evening (not buying him a darn thing LOL).  Hopefully, he'll be more pleasant for Christmas but I'm not holding my breath

We had 2 Christmas parties Saturday and visited my dad Saturday. Then Sunday we had our Christmas program. And we did a photoshoot of all the grand kids for Christmas presents

It was good, but exhausting. B was a total teething crank-monster, but he still manged to find some fun and cuteness in him.

Saturday night we traumatized B by taking him to see Santa.  But we made up for it by watching a big model train display, and then riding a little train around a few acres of Christmas lights.

Sunday we went to a holiday open house and B got to run after all the bigger kids.  And Sunday night we made salt dough ornaments.  They aren't the best - I did a poor job of mixing the dough, but B still had fun.  When I asked him to make his handprint in the dough he yelled, "ART!"  Next weekend we'll try to get them painted.

Saturday morning my mom and I took G to Eastern Market (a huge farmer's market area in Detroit).  She's a handful there, and it's so crowded, but she loves it, and I always feel so good buying our produce there.  The place has a good vibe.  I did some holiday shopping in our little downtown in the afternoon, and Sunday we just played.  The weather was fairly mild on Sunday, so we got outside.  G went up and down the street hugging and talking to all the blow-up decorations on people's front yards.

We did nothing exciting. We are looking for a new house and there is literally nothing available. People are holding onto their homes mostly because they dont want to sell low, I think and new home building is just heating back up. It's a total sellers market around here right now. Which is weird, btw. Great for selling our condo but horrible for finding a new home. It's looking more and more like we're going to have to temporarily move into an apartment. No big but I dont love the idea of moving twice.

Aww, I understand. I think toddlers are hit or miss whether you're going to catch them on a "good day" when you plan something special. Hopefully he'll have a good birthday tomorrow.

I guess there's no good time to be buying AND selling, huh? Bummer! That's great that you might be able to sell your condo though. I think pigs might fly before we break even on our place, LOL!

G was sick so that sucked but hes pretty much better now. Still a little clingy and whiney.

I went to Walmart by myself on Sat. Sheesh, I should've known better than to go there on a weekend afternoon. It was insanely busy.

Five Months to Plan

DD had her birthday party. Although she ad a double ear infection we still went with it since it was just adults and she had been on antibiotics for 48 hours. She did pretty good. I was aamzed how well she could open presestnts. Christmas should be fun.

We had DD's birthday party on Saturday.  We had it outdoors at the nearby park and the weather was nice.  A little cool in the morning but warmed up.  She had a great time and loves all of her presents.

Sounds fun! Saturday we tried to go out for lunch but A fell asleep in the car on the way there, so we ended up going through the In & Out Burger drive thru instead. Exciting stuff. DH and I got a babysitter on Sunday afternoon and we drove into the city for lunch and a couples massage. It was our first date in a very long time. Too bad he had to get home and work the rest of the day.

DH had to work on Saturday- the Germans (the new owners) are coming to his building so they have a lot of stuff to finish before they get there.  So I took the boys to drop off at Salvation Army.  But other than that we did nothing on Saturday.  Sunday Dh took the boys outside for awhile while I worked on my ornaments- I have most of them almost done.  We typically have laid back weekends since my DH has had a very stressful few months with new owners of the company he works for.

Fun stuff! I'm sure Miles would be in HEAVEN. I always like reading posts like this because it gives me ideas on what to do with him on weekends!

We didn't do a whole lot. Lots of R&R and gift wrapping. It was a pretty relaxing weekend!

Not much with the boys ... They were sick, esp mason. We skipped a party on Sat, and stayed home today. He's coughing like crazy, like I was a week ago! Sun I went to lunch and to see The Hobbit with some girlfriends!

GG- where was the dog show? My aunt was working a breed booth at the Eukanuba show!

Saturday I went to see my niece perform in the Nutcracker with the NJ Ballet. MH had his family over our house to help watch the kids while I was out.

Sunday MH took DS to a bday party at Chuck E. Cheese & I took DD to my mom's for dinner & to help decorate her tree with my sisters. MH & DS met us there after the bday party.
