Special Needs

Need advice

My 4 year old special needs son was left alone on a school bus for over three hours. Im panicking. What are my rights? The school is extremely apologetic but I'm not buying the 'he was safe' excuse. No child is safe unsupervised. He can not tell me what happened.

Re: Need advice

  • Well 'out for blood ' means lawsuit? I do not want it but when my child's safety is violated it is my obligation to make sure it won't happen again. My son was not wearing a seat belt. Simple buckle up could've prevented this. No mother feels 100 safe for their children after Fridays tragedy

  • Yes my son was missing. He was unaccounted for over 3 hours. And I can articulate what I want: I want my son to tell me how he feels but he can't articulate. I want to get over it but I never will. The aid lost her job already. Don't say you are not buying the seat belt thing, I saw her putting him on a bus and not buckling up, when reprimanded she would reassure me she sits next to him and he is safe, he was not. The school had no idea he was missing and I never called him out. He never missed a day of school. Irresponsible adults created this situation. My anxiety is sky rocketing. Even that I know he is safe now.
