Lo #1 will be 22 months old when #2 arrives. They will have their own rooms. Do those with a similar age gap have two changing pads, one in each room? what about rockers? We still use the rocking chair in #1's room when we read before nap and bed.
We never rocked to sleep, so we don't use rockers. DD2 does have a large comfy chair for feeding in the morning but no rockers.
We have three change stations. One for the older kids' room, one for the baby's room, and one for the kitchen (main level). I think it's helpful to not have to run to just one change station, especially when I have all three kids awake and one needs a change.
Nope. We didn't really have two of anything. One changing pad in the nursery (DD1 slept there until 23 months, DD2 didn't move in there until she was 6 months). I kept supplies for changing both girls in there, and a few extra diapers and a pack of wipes in the living room, but just changed them on the floor. One rocker in the nursery, and I can count on on hand how often we've used it since we stopped rocking DD1 to sleep almost 2 years ago. DD2 wasn't really a fan of it.

My kids are 13.5 months apart. We had 2 changing pads, and IMO it was a waste.
I still have 2 rockers though and I use them all the time. We don't rock to sleep either, but we read books to the kids before every nap and before bed in the rockers. Both kids are still in cribs. When DD changes to a big girl bed we will ditch the rocker and start reading in her bed. I couldn't have survived without 2 rockers.
We have one changing pad in older LO's room. We also have diapers and wipes in our room (where baby has been sleeping) and diapers and wipes in the living room. Generally I just change them on the floor.
We have one rocker in the baby's room, but we never use it.

We have two rockers. But one changing pad in DS1 room. I have another "station" with supplies in my room were DS2 sleeps. Since they will eventually share a room and we still use the changing pad for DS1.
We still use the rocker for bedtime stories, we were fortunate that my SIL had one that she wasn't using that we put in DS1 room. I have the other in our room so I can use it for DS2 for now.
Since your two will have separate rooms than I would buy another changing pad. And either get a comfy chair or something for your older childs room and move the rocker into the younger ones room.
We don't have 2 of anything. There is a rocking chair in the nursery but it never gets used. I used it for DD when she was an infant, but DS doesn't need rocked. Changing pad is in the nursery, and I only use it for DS. DD gets changed on the floor.
My girls are 25 months apart. They will share a room when dd2 is a bit older she's 4 months. Right now dd2 is in a bassinet in our room. We have one station in the girls' room and one in our room. It was very useful for when dd2 would wake up in the middle of the night. My hubby would just change her in our room so that dd1 wouldn't wake up. I would also change one in our room while the other was taking a nap. We bought the extra changing pad at a mom's sale for 5 and put it on top of our dresser. When dd2 is in the girls' room full time we'll go back to just one station.
Mine will be the same age apart and I've been wondering this too. DD1 never liked to rock to soothe, she liked to be bounced (I joke that's how I lost my baby weight fast) but I did use the rocking chair in her room to BF very often. And we use that chair now to read a story before bed (not necessarily rocking). I may just buy a club chair (non-rocking) to put in DD1's room for story time, and move her old rocking club chair to the nursery in case LO2 likes to be rocked. My in-law have a rocking chair & a rocking club chair though that isn't pivotal to their furniture setup, so I may borrow one of those in the early days while we figure it all out before buying something.
I do plan on getting an extra changing pad for the nursery, and having 1 in each room. They are inexpensive and just screw to the back of the dresser top (we don't have changing tables), so seems well worth the convenience to me.

My girls are just a little under 22 months apart and room share, but even if they didn't, I don't think I would have needed two changing tables. We room shared with DD2 until she was 3 months and would just change her diaper wherever, and then we potty trained DD1 when DD2 was 5 months old, so getting a second changing table wouldn't have been worth it IMO.
As for a rocker, well, my girls liked to be rocked sideways only, so we never had much use for one, let alone two.
I dont plan on buying anything except diapers and if its a boy clothes (we have a DD right now). When we had DD we bought things that were uni-sex so we could use it again. With the rocking chair I will put it in baby #2s room and I can always rock and read to DD in babys room and just carry her to her bedroom. We only have one changing pad and dont plan on getting another one we didnt really use it with DD only after bath time.

I'm glad you asked this because I've been wondering about this too.
