What happens when you are sick?

My DS is 8 weeks old, adjusted age 3 days. I started feeling achy last night and today feel pretty crappy and have a fever of 100. I spend a lot of time making sure DS isn't around sick people, but what do you do when you're sick? I'm nursing and supplementing with formula. Should I keep my distance from him or just figure he's already been exposed? I'm not sure how I got sick since I barely leave the house! I'm pretty sleep deprived, though.TIA!

  • With nursing your ds is going to get ammunities to whatever you have. Also make sure you don't have mastis are your bobs sore.

  • whenever I've been sick usually my girls have gotten it. But if you can try to have help until your fever atleast breaks if possible. That way you can get your rest and the baby is at less risk for getting sick.

  • Can you pump and have someone else feed your baby ? Is him/her still in the NICu? That would be your best bet. That way you provide him with you BM and it's benefits while you keep him from getting sick. You should try to avoid passing it to your LO as much as you can.

When LO just got home from the nicu DH had a cold also from overworking and almost no sleep, he used a mask and used clean tshirts, washed hands etc.

Keep in mind a cold is a lot more contagious at onset or first and second day.

    Take care!
