Suggestions on a schedule

mobile:  suggestions on a schedule

I feel dumb that I can't wrap my brain around how to schedule our mornings, but since the board is slow, I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone had any suggestions.   I go back to work in January.

I need to drop N off at daycare and be at work at 830.  N's daycare is 30 minutes (give or take) away from home and my office is less than 5 minutes from the daycare.  It takes me about 1 hour to shower, dress and get out the door.  This is not including diaper changes and nursing.  N sleeps about 7 hours for her first stretch and lately has been sleeping another 3. So its been 10p to 5a then 530a to 830a.  I start putting her routine earlier, but 930/10 is when she falls asleep. Any schedule I can think of either has her going to bed later so that she will wake up around 6 or has me waking her up to feed her before we leave.  Hubby is not a factor in the routine because he works out of town during the week.

TIA

Re: Suggestions on a schedule

  • She will probably sleeping different in about a month and will change again at 6 months. I would aim to have her up around 7 you getting up about 6:30.

  • Is N your baby or an older child? If you are taking N to daycare, getting her from her crib to carseat is going to wake her up regardless, so I would just plan on having to wake her to feed before leaving.

With DD1, I started showering at night. Freeing up the 1/2 hour for shower and blow drying my hair made up for the time I needed to pump (EP with DD1). I would absoutely suggest that you plan on getting yourself ready first, then getting your LO up.

  • Wake her to eat right before you leave. You'll likely appreciate her sleeping while you get ready. Especially if you are getting ready by yourself.
