If he's eating something he really likes, my son will take as much as he can off his tray and shove it in his mouth. He does well with chewing, etc and so far (knock on wood) has never had any choking incidents. Anyone else?
One thing I was wondering was how long it took your LO to learn how to take bites of something. I saw the post below about dipping, and it got me curious. If I give him something huge (eg- corn on the cob or a banana that's not cut up) he will take bites because he doesn't have a choice. Otherwise, he will shove the whole thing in his mouth. Any recommendations as to how to start helping him learn to take bites, etc? Or is it something that will just come to him one day? TIA
Re: Double Fisted Eater
DD shovels the food in too and will have chipmunk cheeks full of food if we let her. We also only put so much on her plate at a time and then give her more.
Giving her something to dip her food in has definitely slowed her down so its worth a try.
