Itchy nip?

Anybody else here have itchy nips? My left one itches like crazy, but it also hurts really bad...it's making me bonkers! I lotion up everyday so I know it's not dry skin. Am I alone on this one? ;

Re: Itchy nip?

  • UGH!  No, you're not alone.  It's the worst.  Especially at work.  I'm a nanny, but I'm 90% sure the family has nanny cams (but I don't know where they are), so I'm certain they've seen me going in for a 'covert' nipple scratch.  Which then results in a yelp or a similar expression of OUCH, because my nips are also super sensitive and sore!  EGADS!

  • So glad to hear I'm not alone! This started yesterday! I felt like I kept groping myself at work, I'm sure I looked fabulous.

  • Mine are awful, too. And now it's worsened by the fact that I have hives head to toe, apparently from an allergic reaction to the gummy vitamins I've been taking while I couldn't swallow my gigantic prenatal vitamins during the flu. I'm not finding much relief in anything for my itchy nipples/areolas at the moment...  Crying

  • I second the lanolin. It helped with itchiness when I was breastfeeding.

  • My doctor told me to take Loratidine for my hives. I took 1 tablet 2 hours ago, and within 45 minutes my nipples stopped itching! Ask your doctors if you can take over the counter Loratidine (Claritin or Alavert). So much relief!!!!!!
