My little one has RSV

What I thought was a nasty cold has turned out to be RSV. I'm a little freaked about it. She's on nebs every 4 hrs and antibiotics for the ear infection that she also has. I'm glad she doesn't have to be hospitalized, but I'm going to be up worried about her all night.

My friends daughter just had it and was fine in a few days. It can be bad but isn't always.

  • I wouldn't worry too much, it's one of the common cold viruses. It's really only an issue for little babies like newborn to 4 months because they have a tough time handling the secretions. I hope you lo feels better soon!

  • Try not to worry. My lo had it a month ago and was fine after a few albuterol (sp?) treatments.
  • The informational poster at our pediatrician's office says virtually every child gets it once before the age of 2. Not so scary! Hope your little one feels better very soon.

  • I've always wondered if my boys had had it but I just thought it was a cold.

  • Now she has a fever too. And my husband just started running a fever. I worry about my toddler getting sick. Sounds funny, but she's the most fragile in the house. A 2 1/2 she only weighs 26 lbs. She doesn't handle illnesses well.
