Sleeping

Looking for some swift advice. Our little dude is 21 months old. We have a new baby due in 4 weeks. We have to work quickly.
Here are the facts:
in between relocating out of state and having dual households for 2 months, we are cosleeping.
we have both a twin bed with rails and a crib in his room.
we tried the big bed with a baby gate at the door, but he climbed over the gate.
he doesn't seem excited for the big bed.
if he's tricky enough he can get out of the crib.
we have ferbered him into his crib in the past, but he never slept thru the night there.
I fear if I don't get him on his own before the baby comes, I will be in for a treat.

Please help.
