Cramping with Ganirelix?

Got a call from the nurse today that my lead follie (I have 2 measurable ones ATM) is attempting to ovulate and my LH is climbing. I had to start Ganirelix today, and I took it about 3 hours ago. I am having alot of cramping in the side with the lead follie, and alot of back pain in that side too, which wasn't there this morning? It's too early to trigger yet, as my follie is only 16mm and my lining isn't thick enough. Is this the Ganerelix trying to stop me from ovulating?

TTC #2 with assistance since 03/11
Me: 33, Autoimmune (Hashimotos and FMS/CFS)
Treated with Synthroid, acupuncture, TCM and supplements
DH: 33, MFI (very low on all counts, high antibodies, hemochromatosis)
Many treatments tried, none successful

IVF/ICSI #1 05/14 - EPP/Antagonist, Gonal-F and Luveris, 18R, 14M, 13F - SET of 1BC, all arrested on day 5 - C/P
Genetic testing = normal, DNA Frag = excellent
IVF #2 03/15 - Long protocol with Suprefact, Gonal-F, and possibly Luveris, adding in PICSI

    I had discomfort after taking Ganirelix too. It wasn't too bad, but I could tell the difference between how I felt after taking it compared to the other injectables. I hope the cramping gets better soon!

    FET w/donor embryos #1: 10/2013 Cancelled
    FET w/donor embryos #1.2: 11/2013     ~ ET of 2 beautiful blasts on 11/27.

    OK, that makes me feel a little better! With the Gonal-F, it's more of a sharp pain (almost like ovulation cramps?) and this is more of a AF-type feeling. I'm just paranoid that I'm going to ovulate or something!

    I didn't but if I did it was probably masked by the pain of the injection.  That is the worst, dullest needle ever!  I hope you get to feeling better :)

    Agreed! That effer hurt!!

    I had more burning than cramping w my ganerelix. i agree about the needle. I ended up using spare syringes/ needes i had from the menopur cause they were sharper.

    Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
    8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 
    ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
    IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
    ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN

    Come to think of it, I did have some cramping and back pain.  And I had little red bumps every time I took that shot.  Ugh.  

     

    Hope you trigger soon so you can stop taking it.
