The news hadn't reported that 22 kids and one adult in China at a school were hurt by a guy with a knife....this morning. I haven't seen any news yet on if anyone is deceased.
My boss and I were talking about this incident this morning. No deaths were reported in that case. We were comparing the eerie similarity and the difference between a knife attack versus a gun attack in terms of fatalities.
"Gun violence is uniquely an American problem compared to other industrialized countries. The rate of gun-related deaths per 100,000 individuals in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom is 0.1, 0.5, and 0.03, respectively. In the U.S., the overall rate is 2.98."
There are so many lessons we can learn from other parts of the world. I wish, in the least, we could get this one right.
I was thinking about this too and how America has such a high rate of gun violence compared to most industrialized nations.An article I found https://scienceblogs.com/thepumphandle/2012/07/23/gunviolenceisauspublichealthproblem/nbsp;"Gun violence is uniquely an American problem compared to other industrialized countries.nbsp; The rate of gunrelated deaths per 100,000 individuals in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom is 0.1, 0.5, and 0.03, respectively.nbsp; In the U.S., the overall rate is 2.98."There are so many lessons we can learn from other parts of the world. nbsp;I wish, in the least, we could get this one right.nbsp;
When you can go into a place like Walmart and all the guns are laid out there looking cool for kids and teens to see, it's not really surprising. Something really has to be done.
