Fuzzibunz leaking through legs

DD is 8 months old, but I'm new to CDing. I have a few Fuzzibunz in my rotation, but I've been avoiding them because they leak more often than not. I tried doubling up on inserts, but that didn't work. This morning it leaked after 90 minutes. When I changed her, it didn't seem that wet. My elastic was tightened to 4. I just changed it to 6. That just seems really tight for a chubby legged 8 month old. Is there anything else I can try?

Re: Fuzzibunz leaking through legs

  • FB always leaked on my DD no matter what I did.
  • FB are a very trim fit.  They work great on my skinny legged daughter, but they may not work on chubby legs.

If you want to keep them, I would say put them asside until your little one starts running around and trimming down a little.

  • When I first bought my FB, I had the same issues. I hadn't realized that the diaper needs to be turned inside out so the leg elastic could be tightened at both ends. I just thought it was the one button per side. This may seem silly and obvious to you, but in case it helps, I thought I'd share.

  • I had to mess with the elastics a few times to get the fit I like. I don't have leaks and my daughter is not a skinny minnie.

  • I have one Fuzzibunz that I bought when LO was a newborn because they were so small and thin.  Now, at 7 months, I never use it.  By the time he was 4 months, they leaked.  OK, not true...I use it if I need something for about a half an hour before bedtime...but that's it.

I don't know if anything can be done!
