My heart goes out to those families that have been affected by the elementary school shooting in Connecticut. The news just announced that at least one child, teacher and possibly the principle have been shot. The child died. WTF is wrong with people?

Okay, that's the third shooting that's been publicized lately. KC Chiefs player, Oregon Mall, now this. Since they say things come in 3's, it can stop now. It breaks my heart when things like this happen. Prayers for the families involved.

This is incredibly sad.  I feel like there is no safe place.  Don't want to start a debate here but this is why I think only policeman, etc should carry firearms.

I have goose bumps now that is so horrible. Especially since I just got back from dropping off my two stepsons at school.

It's a terrible world we live in that we have to hear about these

things. It makes my anxiety level sky high, thinking I can't ever

truly protect my children from these evils. Praying for the victims

and their families. People are just sick and it's not fair

So heart breaking.  What is this world coming to??  Shootings were bad enough in high schools and colleges (anywhere, really) but now elementary schools?!?  God, I could not imagine.  My heart goes out to the families.

I'm watching this right now. Absolutely devastating!! They're now saying 18 children dead. Heartbreaking!!!

This is just horrible. I grew up in the town next to this school. I can't even believe it. Just want to lock my kid input house and not let him out.

Omg. All of this. I am physically ill thinking about how scared those poor children must have been. I had to send my kids upstairs to play, because I'm sitting here crying while watching the news.

27 fatalities. I'm crying holding my child. I can't even imagine. Not that anytime is a good time... But I just can't imagine having to go through the holidays. My prayers are with all the family and friends...

I grew up about 20 mins from Newtown it is a small and safe town. This hits just way too close to home. My step-sister's husband is a fireman in Newtown and is on the scene currently. I'm devastated for these children, the families and everyone effected...

It's just heartbreaking. I've been crying since I heard about it. It's truly sickening to think there are people like that in the world. My prayers go to all the families.
