I don't agree with the "rule" that you shouldn't give your baby anything sweet before age 1. I gave DS a bite of my ice cream the other day and when it mentioned it in conversation to a coworker she flipped! She could not believe I had given him something sweet. It just doesn't make much sense to me. What changes from day 364 to day 365 that they can all of a sudden have sweets?
I also can't stand when people don't cut their kids hair/do something with their daughters hair. My cousin never puts a clip or anything in her 2 year old daughters hair and it is wild and all in her face. You would totally judge an adult with their hair everywhere and untamed, so why is it okay to let your child walk around like that? Pet peeve!
I think this is nuts. She's a toddler! Who cares if her hair is wild? You wouldn't judge a toddler who makes a mess when they eat, but you would judge an adult. Toddlerhood and childhood are the perfect time to be a mess. I think people who fuss over their baby/toddler/child being immaculately clean are ridiculous. They're just kids!
My daughter is only 9 months and won't keep her bows or hair ties in her hair, and I am sure as heck not going to cut her hair because of it. Let's wait and see how easy it is to keep your kids immaculate when they're 2.
I DO think that if a child is older, like around 7 or 8...something needs to be done with a child's hair. A pastor from an old church I went to had an 8 year old whose hair was always a mess. She looked like she lived in a van...they most definitely did not live in a van, it was the parents fault because they just didn't care enough to sit her down and brush her hair and pull it back! It drove me nut!
Ava has crazy wild hair and most days, it is out of her face in some way, but either she pulls it out, other daycare kids pull it out, or it falls out due to her craziness. Let alone the fact that I can only get her to sit still for like 2 sec. to be able to put it up and it lessens everytime I need to fix it. There are days you would definitely not like how my childs hair looks but I cannot keep up with it and am not ready to cut it yet.
I can't believe all the hair she has! That is awesome! What did it look like when she was a newborn?? Have you had to cut it yet?(besides the bangs trim)
Here she is at about 6 hours old:
We have not had it cut yet, besides 3 or 4 bang trims in the beginning, but I am talking to my cousin who is a hairstylist next weekend at Christmas to get some advice on what we should do with it as it is always in her face and is down to her shoulder blades in back!

On the subject of hair...I cannot stand long hair on boys/men. Seriously, I want to chase them down and shave their head when I see any male with hair long enough to put a clip (barette, ponytail, whatever) in.
Gross.
You're missing out
And this...
Though I'd generally say no to long hair on men...but Brad Pitt, from Legends of the Fall, with that hair, yummy!
H is annoying me today. We have separate bank accounts and it works great 99% of the time, but this year he hasn't helped me with Christmas expenses and he said he would. I will not ask him/remind him he said he would give me money but it is annoying me. I think I am pms'ing because usually this wouldn't annoy me.
And he wanted a Christmas list from me and then he told me last night he was just going to take me to buy me tennis shoes. I don't want/wear tennis shoes. And I told him that and he got huffy. I freaking did what he asked by giving him the list and then he ignores it and wonders why I'm not interested in it? He hates to buy stuff and I love to have more than one thing to open. So instead of a 125 dollar pair of shoes, I'd love the cd I wanted, the ring I wanted, the scarf I want, a new beanie, and the owl mug. And the total would be less than 125! But it's like he can only take the time to buy one thing so he wants it to cost more. He will have 7 things to open at least, all of which he wants and/or needs.
I'm just annoyed he can't find the damn time to shop for me but can spend 4 hours trying to find a freaking bulb for the used tv his dad just had to have for his man cave room. 4 hours. UGH.
Our 4 year old always comments on why Santa only brings me one gift while Daddy gets more. And H doesn't do stocking stuffers. So my 4 yo thought I had been bad since everyone else - including our pets - has stuff in their stockings. So I feel like a loser buying my own stocking stuffer.

I'll confess something else then! I snooped in exSO email. That's the only thing that I know the password to. There wasn't anything good...except for a notice that his cell phone is about to be cut off if he doesn't pay his bill! This is his first bill...since I made him get his phone off my account. And he's already late? Geez!
L still has cradle cap. I've tried using dandruff shampoo, olive oil, combing it several times a day.... I can't get rid of the stuff. So I just don't care anymore. It doesn't seem to bother her, and until it does, I guess she can just rock it.
I'm being a "time thief" at work today. I have been covering for one of my employees all week. She hasn't worked a full 5 day week since she started nearly a month ago. I'm so sick of it. She doesn't even bother to call and tell us she isn't coming into work, my boss has to track her down. I've been having anxiety attacks all week trying to keep everything afloat and I'm done. The weekend can't come quick enough.

I use California Baby Shampoo that's for dandruff, cleared it up right away. I got it from Amazon but they sell it at Target too.

Mustela (BRU & BBB carry it) has a cradle cap shampoo & cream. I used the cream on DS when he was younger (he didn't have much hair).
1. I love the movie Anchorman and I know every single line. It was on TV the other night and DH and I sat on the couch and took turn saying the lines and laughing hysterically. It really is so stupid and some of the other Will Ferrell movies are annoying to me, but not Anchorman.
2. Parker had to wear daycare clothes home yesterday because my mom didn't take a new set up there when I asked her to (and she said she would). I didn't have a chance to wash them, so I just sent them back dirty. She only wore them for a few hours.
I had a FFFC the other day but I forgot it. Then I had one this morning. Then I forgot it. I have gotten 2 hrs of sleep 2x in the last week. My newest:
I love DS more than anything, but right now I just want to run away or eat ice cream and drink wine. I have already sung "You Drive Me Crazy" and "Insane in the Brain" to him this morning.
We are on day 12 of 3-4 diarrhea explosions & outfit changes a day. I think he is over the stomach virus, but the amoxicillin for the ear infection is keeping it going. He usually STTN, but he hasn't in a week and is waking up 3-4x a night and taking up to 2-3hrs to go back down. He also whines/cries/or screams half the day. I also had the stomach virus for a week myself during this time. H has only had one day off last week and told me this morning that he has no days off this week- his next day off is 8 days from now. H works 12pm-1am and wakes up at 10-11am, so I care for DS alone most of the time & we have no friends/family here & no sitters.
On his 1 day off this week (Wed) I got annoyed when I was pumping and H went upstairs- I thought to use the bathroom- and never came back down- leaving DS crawling around & getting into everything & me having to constantly disconnect. 40min later I go upstairs & H is taking a nap. I told him he could have at least confined DS & told me that is what he was going to do & that I am sick of having to do everything. Then DH gave me the "what do you do all day" SAH crap because there was still a dish on the coffee table from the day before. I wanted to kick him in the junk. <--- this reminds me I wanted to post a ? about this
I guess this is a confession/vent.
I give mad props to the those whose babies are still not STTN. I don't know how you have continued to function and stay sane this long.
I don't normally participate in this thread but with the hair and sex talk I thought I would chime in.
DD is still VERY bald. I keep bows on her all the time because she always gets "what a cute boy" if I don't. It drives my dad crazy that she wears bows. He said it looks like I'm gift wrapping her to give her away. Everyone else thinks it's adorable. If I know I'm going to see him I make sure I put on one of her bigger bows just because.
DH is very selfish in the bedroom. He use to not be this way but as long as he gets his he's happy and is done. I like sex, I use to want it every day, now I could go a week or 2 without it because it's just work for me to fake it. I have tried talking to him about it, telling him what I like, doing things to him, etc. Nothing changes and he is almost prudish in the bedroom now. I miss the passion, the need, and the fun that sex use to be. I have had dreams about sex that are better than what I'm getting in the last year +.

My exH was like this! And he even got to the point that if I didn't give him a bj he wouldn't have sex. I don't mind giving, by any means, but when I don't get it in return (ever because he sucked at it), and not even sex in return...yeah, not happening buddy! Sex isn't the only part of a relationship, but when it's not existent it can really put a damper on the whole relationship. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Here's one. I hate it when people who don't regularly post on this board come on here and post something completely inappropriate on a thread.
That post was a grief stricken one about a terrible tragedy. It was not the time or the place for that political, guncontrol bullish!t. Start your own damn thread if its so big of a deal that you have to say something, but leave Jen's alone.
Maybe I would have just side eyed a more regular poster [or even someone I've seen around occasionally] or PM'd them about it, but I want to punch you for that.

Aria's are. The headbands are made of stretchy material, not like hard "u" shaped head bands. We have some that are plain bands that you clip bows on, and some that the bows/flowers come sewn on already.
Yep. We have just as many headbands as bows probably. We have almost every color of both bows and headbows.
And whoever suggested counseling. We are trying but we both have to admit there is a problem before we can fix anything.
