If you've made a photo calendar on Shutterfly, please help

I've never created a photo calendar.  I'd like to do a few this year for the grandparents.  I was just about to get started but I have no idea how many pictures to put on the top part of the calendar.  You know, when it's hung, the pages opposite of the actual calendar part.  Ya know what I mean?  You can do a collage of anywhere from 1 to 9 pictures.  I don't want to do too few and have the pictures too big because most of the pictures I have were taken on my iPhone so if they are printed too big, they'll look grainy. But I don't want to put too many pictures and have them be too small.  How many would you suggest per page?  TIA!

My sister and I just made a calendar for our parents on Shutterfly!  One of our pages had 2 photos, a few had 3, and the rest had 4 to 6.  We had a lot of photos though from this year that we wanted to use of my wedding and honeymoon and other random ones.  One thing that is nice is that if you are using a photo from your phone, for example, and you try to make it too big, it will give you a little explanation point in the top corner of the photo to warn you.

I did 3 of them this year. Most pages had 2-4 pictures on them. I had some pics from my phone as well as some I took from FB(with my SILs permission). If it was too big and going to be "grainy" it will give you an alert.

I did a calendar this year from 3-9 photos. Basically, I had a theme per page and picked the best photos for that theme. If there were 3 photos, I used 3. If there were 7, I used 7.

The iphone photos really look great, don't worry about that. Shutterfly will tell you if they are too small, and even then, they are usually overestimating: most photos I've printed (despite Shutterfly telling me not to) are fine.

I made two for the first time this year. It was so much fun and easy to do!

I made one for my parents as grandparents. Each page had a theme, so like others said, it depends on how many pictures you have. The most I used on a page was eight. Most of the pages had three.

I also made another one for my IL as grandparents. I didn't have as many pictures, so the most pictures on a page for that one was three. I did have a few pages that just had one picture.

You can also make an 18month one if you want to have a lot of pictures but not too many on each page. BTW there are a lot of free codes out there for the calendar. You might google free shutterfly calendar code and have luck finding one. Good luck Mrs.G.

I usually put as many as I can   They still look plenty big and I love all the pics.

Yup, got the code, thanks!! I wouldn't order from them otherwise, 21 bucks per calendar is way too much. But I'm getting 2 so 10 bucks each isn't bad.
