If you're LO takes meds for reflux..

What meds do they take? 

Jovanni has been on zantac for 4 weeks and I see no difference, they upped his his dose last week and it's not helping. When I asked the pedi to try different medication she said there is nothing else a two month old can take.

Interesting...my LO was on Zantac and we saw no change, so our pedi switched him to Prevacid on Monday. It's also in liquid form, and he doesn't hate the taste of it nearly as much as the Zantac!

LO was on Zantac but it stopped working after a month. So

the pedi put him on Prevacid and he's been on that for 6

weeks now. He's been on reflux meds since he was 3 days

old.

DS is on Zantac too and I plan to discuss Prevacid at our next appt. there is a site I found called reflux rebels. Lots of useful info.

My girls were on Zantac for 1 week without any improvement. So they were switched to Prilosec. This is a compound medicine which caused horrible gas and ultimately they were worse. After these two meds we were referred to a GI doctor. They have been on Prevacid solutabs for a month and it has really helped.
I would ask for a referral to a specialist if your doctor isn't willing to try a different med. GL

I'm a little irritated that my pedi isn't talking about other meds. DS is in pain after he eats every single time. I really dont want to switch pediatricians but if she isnt going to help then I dont know what to do.

 I'll be the odd one out...mine is on Axid. I was really surprised when the pedi said that not zantac but after changing the dose a few times it seems to help...My doctor did say prilosec would be an option if the Axid didn't work but that you have to give it an hour before they eat so it's harder with babies..but maybe ask to try Axid?
