can you pop a stitch?

either i just popped a stitch or re-tore something open because i'm suddenly in lots of pain in a particular area. I was adjusting on the couch, and ouch.  do i just let it re-heal or try to go see my ob tomorrow?

i felt like this many times..did they give you witch hazel pads to use? that helped ease the pain a bit, i would call your ob if you're still concerned tomorrow but i'm sure it just feels like you ripped.

Oh I so know that pain, that sucks, I'm sorry! I thought I ripped my episiotomy open so many times.... but I was told by a few people that it's either not possible or very unlikely - but if you move a certain way it absolutely can feel like that. For me that lasted quite a while. It doesn't hurt nearly as bad now, but one part of mine still hurts in a particular spot sometimes. Did they give you dermoplast spray? That plus the ointment they gave me and tucks pads were somewhat helpful for the pain.

I remember feeling that way too - and I didn't even have an episiomy.  I think it's because everything is so tight when it starts to heal.

You can pop a stitch. It happened to me. It hurt so bad I had DH look at it and he said it looked red and swollen so I called the OB. If you're still in pain, call the OB. That's what they're for

Yep- and I popped one too.  My OB was very thorough in stitching me up after DD ( I had a 2nd degree tear) and actually stitched me a little too tight, so I popped one, and then he removed another b/c it was so uncomfortable for me!

I'd get it checked if it continues to bug you.
