Update: Our DEmbryo consult this morning

We had our much-anticipated consult with the new RE this morning. He said that everything looked good to go and he was VERY optimistic! With my DOR I've never had an RE be any level of optimistic and it's making me finally feel some hope! He said we could technically start the BCPs once I get my period which is supposed to begin on the 19th. However, I think we are going to need to wait until the following cycle to begin. The problem is that if we do it before 2013, the money we pay for the FET cycle wont go toward our 2013 deductable and out of pocket max (we have an HSA next year.) None of it is covered at all, but at least if we wait to pay for it in January it mean that the rest of our health care for 2013 (including maternity, god-willing) will be 100% paid for. So as much as I'd love to get started right away, it makes better financial sense to call with my January period instead of December's. So the way it's lined up currently - I will do the SHG either next week or the following (praying no polyps), I start BCP with my January period, and then the actual FET would be sometime in Feb.

I love the new RE, I love the new RE staff, I love the clinic itself! They said that we were already well known around the office because of our unique DEmbryo situation, and the staff had a meeting specifially about us on last Friday! I feel like we are definitely not just a number on a conveyer belt and we stand out from the crowd. That can't mean anything but good things, right?

Do they make you pay for your entire cycle before starting BCPs at that clinic? If so, then obv waiting and saving all that cash sounds like a fantastic plan. GL!

Yes, I talked to the financial person and we pay at our baseline which is between CD1 and CD3 of the cycle you start BCPS on. That would still be like 11 days before 2013! I asked if there was any wiggle room in us just paying them a measley 11 days later, and they said that the best they could do is to split it so we pay half now and half in 2013, but if we did that we still wouldn't meet our OOP max for 2013. It wouldnt have done any more good to do it that way. So it definitely didn't make sense and will just do the whole shebang starting in January. Gives me more time to exercise and eat healthy, I'm trying to look on the bright side.

I am so happy the meeting with the new RE went great and yes Gd willing I pray you rack up a bunch of maternity bills! I am so excited that there is positive news on the board lately! I love it!
