Cloth Diapering

Do I need to do anything bc of thrush?

I was diagnosed with thrush today.  DS doesn't have a lot of the characteristic symptoms but he is going to be treated with antibiotics.  He has had a mild diaper rash for a few days, but its been clearing up so I don't think he has yeast down there.  However, am I supposed to do anything special bc of the thrush?  Do I need to bleach or sterilize diapers?  I know I need to boil pacis and bottles because of his contact with the mouth, but I didn't know about the other end.  I thought I've heard of people having to use disposables because of yeast, but I thought that may just be referring to urinary yeast infections.  Any advice is appreciated :)

  • It never hurts to disinfect just to be on the safe side. I use 15 drops of grapefruit seed extract per wash load.

  • Oh, sorry - I mistyped.  It's an anti-fungal not antibiotic!
I guess i'll try some grapefruit seed extract and see how things play out!
    THanks
