Pregnant after 35

I am not a patient woman...

I am ready for more magic and less snissing/gastro-intestinal issues.

I'm all about enjoying this time before the baby arrives outside of my body, but I would really like to feel some kicking soon because I need to up the magic! I am ready to enjoy this experience, but I feel like all the great stuff happens after like week 20...

Like I said: I am not a patient woman... LOL

Re: I am not a patient woman...

  • Time was moving so slowly for me at first.  Everyone here told me that all of the sudden, it would be time for the baby to come.  Now I am on to weekly ultrasounds with a weekly decision if I should go on hospitalized bed rest, deliver, or go to work that day.  Now I am freaking out that the baby will be here so quickly.  I don't know where the time went.  I am sure it will be the same for you.

  • First tri was so slow for me and now I guess its moving a little faster but still I feel like I have forever.  I have just barely been feeling a little movement at 21 weeks.  Twice now in the last couple days while I was using my doppler, I felt a kick or something.  And then last night I could feel more movement afterwards when I was pushing down on my stomach. I can't wait to feel her all day.

At this point I'm just hoping the pregnancy stays fairly uneventful.  Countrygirl's post scares me lol. I'm sure the end will be here before we know it :)

Don't be scared.  I still have over 80 days.  When you start really feeling the kicks, it is amazing.  I really don't have the words to describe it.  It does get distracting when I am doing public speaking and she is kicking my bladder and punching my ribs.  I often loose my train of thought.  It is wonderful.

  • I am pretty impatient too, and I know I have only been pregnant for about 10 minutes, but it's already going slowly. Fortunately I only have to wait a week between ultrasounds at this point (which I find a long wait), but I know down the line that will change and I think it will start really dragging until I can start feeling some action down there :)  I'm not complaining though, grateful to be here no matter how long it takes...

TTC since 3/2010. Me 41, DH-49. After 3 years, 6 IUIs and several IVFs we have finally have our beautiful baby girl, born on 11/7/13.

  • It seems like the further I get into the pregnancy, the faster it goes. It helped that I didn't even find out I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks along (long irregular cycles and probably a defective PG test thrown in there). Things started really speeding up at 14-15 weeks and now I am panicking at all that is left to do!

  • I know it's clich?, but before you know it the time will start to fly.  I keep having to remind myself of that now, b/c things seem to be crawling along.

  • You might get lucky and start feeling the baby in just a few weeks.  :)  I believe I started feeling DD around 17 or 18 weeks, although since she was my first, I wasn't sure that's what it was.  By 19 or 20 weeks, I was sure.  With this one, I started feeling him move around 15 weeks and I knew what it was right away!

2nd tri for me has been blowing by.  Maybe it's because I enjoy it so much more than the 1st and 3rd lol.  It would be nice if things could just stay this nice and comfortable all the way through the end, but noooo.  I'm not looking forward to the last month or two, especially if my preeclampsia returns.
