Missing packages :(

So my DD's anywhere chair was supposed to be delivered today while I was out. According to the UPS website, it, along with an Amazon package, were delivered at 2pm. Arrived at 3pm. No packages :(

Called UPS, said call the shipper, called PBK. At first the person tried to tell me that she could send me a new one right away...not personalized. And there was no way to get it personalized because they have shut that down until after Christmas. I said, that's unacceptable. I don't care if it's after Christmas, my DD is 18 months old, she has no idea what that even is. She had to get it ok'd by her supervisor, but she is supposed to call me in January when they open up the personalization again and we will order a new one then. Ugh...

Sorry, there is no point to this other than to b!tch. Also, Amazon said to wait until tomorrow, in case it shows up. Has anyone had this happen? I checked all of my neighbors porches. I live in a nice, gated neighborhood. And there is a package on my neighbors porch that hasn't been taken. Maybe it was misdelivered?

Re: Missing packages :(

  • I've had things delivered to the wrong address before. It is absolutely UPS's fault. They need to contact the driver and see what he remembers.

  • I would call the police.  There have been a bunch of cases on the news of people following delivery trucks and stealing things off of people's porches.

One house had security cameras and caught some woman red-handed stealing a box that had 2 pair of $250 Prada sneakers.  They found the woman and suspect her and an accomplice in a string of similar robberies

I agree, but UPS wouldn't say anything but you need to call your shipper. And all PBK did was offer to send a new one. I don't know if they are even going to investigate.

I've seen those too, but wouldn't you expect the other house to have their package gone too? Who knows.

  • Yeah they need to contact the UPS driver to see if they remember where they delivered it.

I had a package that said it was delivered to a loading dock which meant nothing to me so I had no idea where they could have possibly delivered it.  It showed up the next day.  I had another package that got delivered a street over and they brought it over a couple days later.

If Pottery Barn isn't contacting UPS then you can.  They will start a case ticket (or something like that) to track it down.

  • I would call ups again. And then I would call the cops, every day on the news a another town had there packages stolen
    So sorry :
  • I would wait until tomorrow and see if it shows up. Sometimes they scan wrong or I've had packages show up at nearly 9pm. I think living in a gated neighborhood, you are less likely to have someone take your packages.

It could have been delivered to a wrong address too. I would try not to worry yet.

  • That is the worst. I have had a few packages misdelivered to neighbors and once to a business about 2 miles away. UPS/Fed Ex always calls the driver first and my items have always been found. Good luck!
  • I wouldn't panic until calling UPS and letting them know you didn't receive it.
