HCG level at 10 dpo. too low or is it still possibly OK?

I just got a call from the obgyn office I had blood work down at and they told me it was barely positive. The hcg lvl was a 16 and it needs to be atleast 5 to be pregnant. They want me to come in on Friday which will be 13dpo for me for another hcg blood test to see if its going up and if not "why its even positive at all". Did anyone here have blood work that early and have a lower number like me and everything turn out ok. I am just a little nervous. I mean I really believe I am pregnant because I have gotten positves on FRER and on a clear blue digital. Plus some faint positives on a few walmart .88 tests. I hope everything works out ok and if anyone has any advice or reassurance I would really appreciate it. Thank you

While low, I think it's a typical number for 10 dpo. I've had betas on 11 dpo the past 2 pregnancies and my hcg was in the low 20's both times.  What matters is that it doubles on Friday!

Also, according to beta base, the median hcg reported at 10 dpo was 15, so you're a point ahead!

Thank you. That is making me feel better. From what I can tell from my pregnancy tests I believe the line is getting darker so I hope thats another good sign. Wish me luck

I'm guessing mine would have been around that. My beta at 11DPO was 23. Like PP said the most important thing is to make sure it doubles. Good luck!

Don't let them make you feel like your numbers are low. You are still VERY early. At 11DPO my beta was 18. My nurse told me my numbers were "too low" and when my next beta came in she began to have a more positive tone.

Remember, it's not about the number but rather the increase.

Thank you everyone. You have made me feel better about it. I'm not sure I like this doctor though. I may end up switching. She wanted me tested for Turners syndrome because I am short. Which everyone on my dad's side of the family is short. I am even taller then my grandmother was.

Just echoing the others that doubling is the important part. Mine was 27 at 11dpo and then 63 at 13dpo.

It kind of blows my mind how doctor's will fill your head with the "that's a low number so you're probably not really pregnant" nonsense. My first draw with my first BFP was 18 and my doc tried to tell me that it was a chemical pregnancy...

My guess is that you just got a very early beta and everything is going to double just fine. Don't let your doc worry you!

Thank you everyone. I figured it was just because I am still early. I was surprised I found out this early but I am happy and trying to stay calm and not worry.

At 10dpo mine was only 23. It blows my mind that these doctors/nurses don't understand that not everyone waits until they've missed their period and are several days late before testing and getting betas. Good luck on the next test.

For this pregnancy my beta at 10 dpo was 7 they were sure I was going to miscarry

16 is not low for 10dpo, most drs wont approve a beta at 10dpo.
