I think some popular teams got served some very squishy opponents (USC vs. GA Tech, for example). Not sure how Florida ended up against Louisville in the Sugar Bowl... that one could be over REAL quick. We've also got the annual bowls where the Big Ten gets pounded by the SEC.
A lot of the bowls will only be interesting if there is an upset. I'd put the Alamo, Las Vegas and Holiday bowls as there potential upsets that would be interesting. The Alamo Bowl in particular pits a theoretical underdog Texas playing what is essentially a home game against Oregon State.
Some of the most interesting matchups definitely are in the third and fourth tier bowls. Ohio vs. Louisiana-Monroe looks like a toss-up on paper, but does anyone *really* care what happens there?
-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.
this is the one time of year where matchups mean nothing to me. during the regular season, I would definitely not watch some of these train wrecks - but Bowl season changes it for me. maybe because I realize these will be the last games I get to watch for 8 months. I'll even watch Beef 'O' Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl
Ball State vs. UCF just because.
there are two motivations in sports, which is yours?

Listen, I think the biggest storyline for the bowl games going right now is the fact that Coach Barry is coming back to coach the Badgers in the Rose Bowl. Make no mistake about it, Barry is going to take over the prep for this game for the next near month of time, and come New Years Day, Another Rose Bowl victory for Coach.
Bielema will be exposed for the fraud that he is, Coach Barry will have another ring on his hand, and the Badgers will be better off with a new coach in place and as much hardware on the national stage as any team in the Big Ten.
It will not be a cake walk though, and it will be Coach Barry that will's this victory for Bucky. It will be a classic Rose Bowl, and I expect nothing but Stanford's best effort.
I'm looking forward to the ND/Alabama matchup. Beyond that, I doubt I'll catch much of the bowl season... maybe a few minutes of a few games, but not likely to catch the bulk of many games.
#1 for me is the Belk Bowl, but that is just because my Bearcats are playing in it. It's probably one of the worst matchups.
Looking forward to the Fiesta Bowl because that is what I was hoping the championship game would be. Also the Rose Bowl to root for the Big Ten.
Outside of those, I'll probably still watch a bunch of games, but not really looking forward to any.
I think the Rose Bowl could get ugly for Wisconsin real fast. It's either going to be a Stanford blowout or a slugfest.
Montee Ball Barry Alvarez, Three Time Rose Bowl Winner Big Ten Champions, SMOKED Nebraska!
I would imagine Stanford knows they will have their hands full New Years Day! I anticipate a typical Wisconsin Rose Bowl, only this time Barry will USE Ball in scoring situations.

Is this a trick question?

Yeah, Cincy losing would be a huge upset. Should be a good day for you though. And everyone likes seeing Duke lose, regardless of sport.

Fiesta Bowl should be a good match, but that's right at the top of the card.
