I can't make this clicky for some reason. I did a poll on another board and nobody voted for these names so I want to re-poll here and see what you think.
Which of the following do you like the most? Or if you must, which do you hate the least? Put them in order if you wish.
Veda (vay-duh)
Delilah (absoloutely love but it doesn't flow the best with our L last name)
Selah (see-lah, or say-lah- how would you pronounce it?)
Sonia (sawn-yah)
Middle name would be Frances or Josephine. If you would like to offer other suggestions those are more than welcome!
eta- I should add that the way I pronounce Sonia is with the first syllable very soft, almost like sun and sawn put together.
Re: Non-clicky girl names
Veda- I am not a fan, I like Vera better.
Delilah- The best on this list.
Selah (see-lah, or say-lah- how would you pronounce it?) - The town right next to mine is Selah. It is pronounced See-luh. I am not a fan.
Sonia (sawn-yah) - I would never pronounce this as Sawn-yah. I would only say it as Sone-yah. I hate it with your pronunciation. It is ok with Sone-yah pronunciation.
Sonia is my favorite, but as PP have said, only if pronounced Sohn-ya.
I love Veda (total GP name for me - and yes, I like My Girl).
Selah is NMS, but not bad. I've only heard it pronounced Sell-uh.
Do not like Delilah.
lol, that's fine...I really hate the sone-yah pronunciation so I'm thinking it might be good to scratch the name- I think that pronunciation is more common. Unless maybe it's a regional thing.

I really freakin hate Sonia. I'm not sure why. It seems so... bitchy, I think.
Love Delilah. I like Veda and Selah (I would say see-luh) equally.
I think Veda Josephine sounds nice.
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
Veda - Like it.
Delilah - Love it!
Selah - Like it.
Sonia - Like it.

I love Veda Josephine!!
I like Delilah Josephine. Maybe Josephine Deliliah if you don't like the way it sounds with your last name?
I don't really like Selah and Sonia.

ha, maybe that's what I don't like the sone-yah pronunciation. It seems bitchy and snobby to me. Thanks for your input, everyone. Keep it comin'

1. Sonia: I love Sonia, but ditto pp about the pronunciation.
2. Selah: I would say SAY-lah
3. Delilah: I like the sound of this name and am sort of tickled to see its recent rise in popularity given its literary connotations.
4. Veda: I don't like Veda at all. All I see is Darth Vader. In this neck of the woods, they are pronounced the same.
My pick would be Sonia Josephine.
Baby Name Popularity by State
I like Delilah the best.
I know too many people named sonia.
I like Selah becuase its different. Never heard of anyone named that before
Here's my favorite to least favorite list for you
Veda
Selah
Sonia
Delilah
My favorite is Selah (looove Selah Josephine!) I would pronounce it "SEH-lah" - almost like Say-lah but not quite an A sound. That's how I've heard Jewish friends say it, anyway.
Next fave would be Delilah, but it's nowhere near Selah - and I don't really care for Veda or Sonia.
selah (see-lah), veda, delilah, then sonia.
i like selah best because i've never met a selah. i know a veda and she rocks, and i love my girl. delilah is pleasant, but reminds me of that overplayed song, strongly dislike sonia.
Delilah- I don't think it would matter about your last name.
Selah - I know someone who named their daughter this. They pronounce it "Sel-ah", like the girl from the Bible.
Sonia (sawn-yah) - I would pronounce this Sone-yah as well. However, I do know people who pronounce it the way you want. Be prepared to correct people her whole life if you choose this name though.

1. Delilah - I think this is pretty and feminine
2. Selah - Pretty and different
3. Sonia - I agree it will probably be pronounced differently
4. Veda
I really like both of your middle name choices.

Selah- SAY-lah. I love this name. Babysat a girl name Selah and she was an absolute doll.
and sorry...I don't really like any of these.
Sonia
Delilah
Veda
Selah Josephine sounds great.
Delilah and Sonia are the best on your list, but the way you describe it isn't really the way Sonia is pronounced. Given that, I don't know if I would choose it, and since Delilah doesn't go with your last name... You may want to find some new ideas.
Have you considered using Josephine for a first name instead of a middle? It is really beautiful.
Veda - makes me think of My Girl, and then it has kind of an old lady smoker vibe to me. No idea why.
Delilah - like
Selah - I really like it, but I'd pronounce it say-lah. I think it can be either way, so you'd have to deal with pronunciation issues.
Sonia - I would pronounce it sone-yah, as did the Sonia I used to know. I think it's a nice name.
i like all the names! they are so interesting and different without being too out there!
selah is pretty, i know someone named sella (like Stella without the t) i really like it.
Delilah is very pretty! Delilah Josephine or even Lilah Josephine would be a winner in my book
good luck!
My daughter is Delilah so I obviously love that one. I think Delilah Josephine sounds great, but it's hard to say how it flows with your last name without knowing it.
My next favorite is Sonia, followed by Veda, then Selah

My goofy little blog
1. Veda
2. Delilah
3. Sonia
4. Selah - ruled out because of pronunciation
Love the name Frances.
