Hello Ladies!
My name is Danielle and my dh and I have been TTC for 14 months now. We have a 2 year old daughter. We got pregnant with her after only one month of trying so it has been really hard to understand why things just aren't happening that fast this time around.
Just a few months ago I went to a fertility specialist and did my first round of clomid last month. This month we upped the dosage of clomid and also went on metformin. They think I may have pcos but the only sign of having it is the string of pearls that show up on the ultrasound. I have no other symptoms which seems a bit odd to me
They did check dh and he is in the clear. I didn't have any other tests done. I get an ultrasound before I start clomid but that's all.
I need somewhere I can talk about everything and just hear other opinions or get some support. My dh is really the only one I have to turn to and he is amazing for always listening to me rant.
Thanks for taking the time to listen and I hope to get some help or support from you ladies.
Re: TTC 14 months
Hi! I'm new to this site, too, and in a similar situation. I have two daughters, 4yr and 2yr old, both conceived in 2 months of trying. We are now on month 15 and I also still have a hard time trying to understand why things aren't working as quickly this time around.
I hope you are in and out of here quickly!
What are you all doing to help the process? The hardest part is you know you can get preggers and have a healthy baby, why isn't it working that way this time around.
And I know it's really not all in our hands, but I don't know about any of you ladies but I had my life planned out since I was little. I wanted a lot of kids and close together because my sister and I are farther apart. So it's been tough to let go of my plan and just live the life that has been given to me. I also know I have so much to be thankful for...my family is healthy, I at least have one child but like I said...it's hard which I'm sure all of you know.
Anyone found anything to help with stress or when you get those times when you are just so frustrated and depressed?
Hi Danielle! I'm new to the the bump as well, but I wanted to let you know that your story is almost identical to mine! We have a two year old who was conceived first try and have been trying for 14 months for our second. It is so frustrating. I am on my first cycle of clomid. I'm trying to remain hopeful and positive, so that is what I am struggling with the most, and am so excited to have found this board and can hear stories like yours that I can relate to. Best of luck to you and your family!
I am glad that someone has such a similar story as mine. I don't have many people to talk with about this stuff besides my husband so if you ever need to vent or anything I am here!
I hope clomid is the answer for you
Glad you found me. It's so nice to chat with all of you ladies

I was put on clomid by a family physician who only takes on OB patients at my clinic. He delivered my first and also monitored me through my other pregnancy and miscarriage. When I had a minor question that I asked on the the bump about clomid I got the cyber stink eye because I wasn't being monitored closely enough. I'm on my first cycle of it, and so far it has failed because I'm on day CD 26 and have not ovulated yet. My cycles tend to be between 40-60 days. I called a clinic in a different town that specializes in infertility to get a second opinion and have an appointment in a few weeks, so we will see what they say about the monitoring.
The two OB/GYN clinics I spoke to in town said they would monitor me the exact same way that my doc is (just a urine pregnancy test before I take a dose). So I don't know what to think! How are you being monitored?
Yeah many people thought I should get a new doctor but I don't have many options to choose from. At first they got me really worried but now I am going to go in the next time with tons of questions and see what my doctor says. I don't think she would put me in any kind of danger and she knows what she is doing. Ya know? All I can do is take the info I learned from these ladies and tell/ask my doc and then go from there.
Well maybe it didn't work for you because the dosage isn't high enough? Did they start you out on 50mg? My first round didn't work either and this last month they upped it and it made a difference.
