Grape Juice

I took DD to the doctor last week because she has been excessively screaming since her 2 month shots. The doctor we saw wasn't her regular pedi and I'm not sure why exactly she was the doctor for our appointment because all the info I gave her, she took to another pedi for answers to. Anywhos, she told me that DD is screaming in because "that's her personality". I call whopping bulllshit and think it may be excessive gas, which I posted about last week. So I called the doc today and ended up with the same doc we saw last week who told me to give her 1 oz of white grape juice diluted to help her poop- she goes once every 4 or 5 days, which I know is normal for a BF baby, but maybe some extra pooping will help with the gas? Who knows. Anyone heard of this white grape juice theory? Anyone tried it? I'm reluctant but desperate... this screaming in pain is tearing on my heart strings.

 

I swear every post of mine is about poop or farts. Dear lord.

We used diluted apple juice and it helped DS get through a rough spot.

Yes, she had her 2 month shots.. Well, almost 2 months ago. She's been a different baby since and I took her to the doc with the concern that she may be having a reaction to the shots and with the fear of the 4 month shots quickly approaching.

Never heard grape juice but heard water and brown sugar does it too. Do two ounces of water to one teaspoon of brown sugar mixed and will help with Bm. Good luck

Did she get the oral vaccine? My Dr told me to keep an eye on Jacqueline because the oral vaccine could cause a portion of the bowels to flip causing constipation and pain, distended abdomen as well as what appears to be a gassy baby. She also mentioned that she has only seen it happen once in her entire career and it happened after the oral vaccine but ended up not being a side effect of it but sort of like a "fluke".

I don't want to concern you or anything...but I do hope your LO feels better soon!

We use diluted prune juice.  Works like a charm

DS only poops about once every 5 days too.  A few weeks ago, he was at 8 days, and I gave him a half ounce of pear juice.  Nothing.  The next day, I gave him a whole ounce.  Nothing (except lots of spit up).  Then, on day 10 (!), HOLY LOTS OF POOP!!  The juice didn't do a thing for him except make him spit up a lot.....he pooped when he was ready.  He was super gassy for a few days beforehand, and I think massaging his belly really helped.  Have you tried the I Love You massage?  (Videos on youtube)
