I have a Maya ring sling coming but now I'm looking at the Moby for long distance baby wearing. Its probably been asked before and I'm sorry if it has.
Who has it? Do you like it? What are the pros and cons about it?
Love it and wear it all the time. Don't have a ring sling to compare it to. It does make my back hurt but I am slouching and doing stuff at home do it would prob hurt regardless. I would def suggest it. Mobile bumping, pls excuse typos.
I have a sleep wrap similar to moby. I really like it. I have a ring sling too. I like it for around the house and on the airplane. I like the wrap for walking around tight places where I don't want to bring a stroller.
I like it, though it was very intimidating to use at first. Thankfully there are lots of good youtube videos to figure out how to use it properly. I feel she is very secure and I love the newborn hug hold position, she's so cuddled in. My back hurts more now that she's over 10 lbs.
The fabric is so long that the pieces are easy to drag on the ground while wrapping. Can't imagine doing this in a parking lot. I think someone else recommended putting it on before you leave the house.
I also have a babynest, which is faster to put her in, but I do not care for the cradle position at all. I constantly have to check on her, I just don't feel she's in as safe of a position. Not giving up on it though until she's grown into the older positions, because it is easier to get on and off.
I love the moby wrap! LO loves it and sometimes its the only thing that makes her happy ( like today). It is a bit of a pain to wrap and i havent had to do while out but i feel like its easier on my shoulders then our chicco carrier which stinks!
I would suggest an Ergo. I was told that after about 15 lbs the Moby becomes hard to use and gets stretched out.
I'm excited for the Ergo for longer wears, but I love my ring sling for the ease.
I have a Bjorn and she loves it. She's currently passed out while I make dinner. I'm dying for my ring sling to get here! I never thought about the Mont stretching out.
Thanks ladies for the input. I'll have to talk to the hubs and figure out what to do.
I LOVE LOVE MY MOBY!!!!!! It is the only thing that can make LO fall asleep in less than 5 minutes. I wear him all over the place, we went to the mall today and he slept for almost 2 hours in it and we were both comfortable.
Pros: Too many to list
Cons: It is a little confusing to put on the first couple times but gets easier after a couple attempts. I put it on before we leave the house so we just have to get to our destination and slip him in.

I love my Moby. It was a little confusing at first, but after practicing how to wrap a few times, it gets better. Also, I put the fabric between my legs so it doesn't drag on the ground while wrapping. After a while, it does make my back hurt, but I wore DS1 in it up until he was probably 20 to 25 lbs.
I now have an Ergo and used it for the first time this weekend. Definately if I will be wearing for an extended period of time, I will use the Ergo. I wore DS2 for about 5 hours, taking him out for pics with Santa, and dinner, and only started to have pain in my hips in the last hour.

Exactly all of this. I love mine.
Wearing it right now!
Pros: LO falls asleep in it really fast if I"m walking around, and he stays warm and cozy. DH and I can use the same one--it's not sized.
Cons: difficult to use in the winter--can't wear it over a jacket. Also I don't think it'll be good once LO gets heavy. It's great for now though.
If I only had to get one carrier I would get an ERgo or a beco.
