$5 gift for a child that has "everything"

I am participating in a gift exchange for DD and I need to get a $5 gift for an 18 month old little boy.  He has lots and lots of toys and I was hoping to get him something he may not already have.  He loves dinosaurs so that's an option.  Anyone know of a good gift in the price/age range?  TIA!

  • A board book from Marshall's or TJ Max.

10 little Fingers and 10 Little Toes is a favorite around here.

  • Does he have the Sandra Boynton Book "Dinosaurs"?

  • I'll have to look.  I like that author too. :)  I know his mom has said before "He has soooooo many books".

  • Im a big fan of books and give them as gifts often... check the sale shelf or Marshalls/TJ Maxx for an option under $5. I think it makes a special gift especially when you write the child a note inside.

This is for all the caterpillars that never became butterflies. And for all the butterflies that never felt the wind in their wings. And for all the hearts that had hopes and dreams of a wondrous flight together.
  • Hit the Dollar Store for coloring books and bubbles. He probably has them already, but I bet they will get used!

  • Book was my first thought too.  Toddler crayons (the triangle ones) would be a big hit.  The Target dollar section has some Rudolph board books for $1, and the sesame street baby books (Bubbles Bubbles, Nighty Night, At the Zoo, and Eyes Nose Fingers and Toes) are favorites in our house.

This - go for the items that get used up and need to be replaced.  Crayons, play dough, coloring books, stickers...

  • I'd also go with a fun book - or 5 random fun things at the dollar store.

  • They have some really cute hats on sale at children's place... although my kid JUST started to love hats so it depends.

A board book? Or hit the dollar section at Target. I saw some Dinosaurs there, and you could throw in something else with it (coloring book, board book, etc).

Dollar store board books are a favorite in this house. They're cheap, colorful and if DD chews on them and ruins them it's NBD.
