Two Under 2

ready for another?

Hi I do not have 2 under 2 but im thinking that I would like too. My son is 7 months and lately I have been thinking I would like to ttc again. But im kind of scared. How did you know you were ready? Pros and cons of having 2 under 2. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Re: ready for another?

  • i didn't plan anything because I was ebfing on mini pill and never got AF.

My overall feeling on spacing is 2u2 is hard of you (parents) but easy on them (kids).

There are times when having 2 babies was really difficult and even having 2 toddlers isn't any easier. For example DS started tantrums early because he sees DD throwing tantrums and DD still throws tantrums like an almost 2 year old because she has her brother....they mimic each others bad behaviors.  but they have always been best friends, never have "real" jealousy, love the same toys and into the same things, and always want to be together (DS will cry for his sister when she is put in time out because he doesn't want her to leave). I think a lot of my struggle with 2u2 was the fact that DH works 70+ hours a week and often weekends so I am on my own all the time.

But my friends with larger spacings don't have it any easier...just different. Their older kid gets jealous, acts out, instead of being in diapers for my 3 years with 2 kids they just got one potty trained and started all over with the next one making it 6 years total.

  • We got pregnant with our 2nd when our 1st was 11 months. The spacing is AMAZING! They are 20 months apart and my oldest (2yo) loves her little sister (4 mo)!  Crazy thing....we just found out #3 is on the way.....oy vey! This should be interesting!
