Bedtime help!

DD has always been a good sleeper.  Bedtime is normal...she needs water, a book, a certain doll, the bathroom...but after that she goes down perfectaly fine.  This has changed lately.  The last few nights have been terrible!   We're talking screaming, crying, yelling...to the point where she is hyperventilating!  Last night I she totally lost it...to the point where she could barely catch her breath!!!  Nothing has changed to make this happen, or at least nothing I can think of.  Her 3rd birthday is tomorrow, so I am not sure if this is a age thing, or something is going on.  Anyone else have issues like this?

Re: Bedtime help!

  • Could she be getting sick? Maybe she's been getting stuffed up at night, and it makes for a hard nights sleep? Or pressure in her ears that hurts more when she lays down?

For as verbal as 3yo's are, ours still has a hard time describing what hurts when he's sick. It's all "my tummy hurts", even when his nose is a faucet of green goo or when the dr says he's got bad ear infections.

Did she maybe have a bad dream one night that she's afraid of having again?

Did someone at daycare/preschool tell her about the boogie man?
