Babies: 9 - 12 Months

interactive books?

One of the teachers at my workplace gave us a book with lots of little flaps in it.  Opening and closing the flaps has become DS's new favorite thing...but it's not exactly durable and made for babies.  It's more of a pre-school book.  Any more age-appropriate (aka durable) recs?

Re: interactive books?

  • I got one from the library recently called "Let's get dressed!" which is a board book and even the flaps are boards with round tabs that stick out and are easy for a baby to grab and flip. The Spot books by Eric Hill aren't board books, but they are made with thicker paper and large flaps, so maybe you could try those?

  • Lucia loves the Karen Katz flap books. They are geared towards babies, and have holiday themed books, peekaboo baby books , body parts books and things like that. The flaps will rip off if she tries hard, but she really adores them, so we just try and keep an eye on her, and figure if we lose a few in the process that's not a huge deal.

  • Oh, I have the perfect thing! The first one we got is called Where is Baby's Belly Button? There is a whole line of them - just click on the author's name. Perfect for babies and very sturdy. So fun!
