New things LO is doing

To try and liven up the board some and since we've been talking about it today on FB what are the new things your LO has been doing lately?

C has started counting from 1-10.  I was amazed the first time she did it.  Her daycare is something else because we haven't really been working on that at home.

She also says KSU Wildcats and cheers, although it sounds more like kay, esh, oooo, wiwats.  It's adorable.

  • She says "I love you". I also got her to make the peace sign while saying "peace!" LOL. We are a goofy bunch. I also got her to fake opera sing while holding her hands in the air. Very educational stuff.
  • My funny story: Ash is usually so active that I cannot get him to look at me for any significant amount of time. Which makes it hard when I am trying to get him to listen. A few weeks ago I started saying "look at me" and turning his face towards mine...I ended up training him very well.

Now when I say it he halts whatever he is doing and snaps his head in my direction and looks at me with this super serious face...so serious I laugh every time. Neither J or I can keep a straight face. So now it has lost it's effectiveness.

  • - DD goes potty in the toilet about once a day now. The rest of the day she tells us "potty" but we don't make it to the toilet in time (either because we are too slow or she tells us after the fact)

    - Maybe this is wishful thinking that this will become the new "normal" - but yesterday when she was done with lunch, instead of throwing her food, she put it all in her hand, said "momma...here (you) go" and handed it to me.

    - DH says she has opened our back door a few times too (yikes!)

    - She loves the Grinch. Not a milestone, but if she had it her way, it would be on our TV 24/7 - lol!

Jumps and bouncing on everything (thank goodness for gymnastics class)

Sings and goes in a circle to ring around the rosie (if I stop singing you hear her go ashes ashes and down)

    Saying ABCs (Wow Daycare!) A B C E

We had a very successfull weekend using the potty and wearing our big girl panties at home!

Giving the dogs commands which they ignore (sit, away, no)

C loves ring around the rosie!  She will come up to my grab my hands and go "rosie, rosie" to get me to play with her.  So cute.

And I'm jealous of all you mommas with the potty success.  C is very far away from any potty training I think.

  • DD loooooooves the twinkle twinkle little star song. She sings "up above the world so high" but sounds like "upa buv a worl so hiiiii". Precious. Climbing on EVERYTHING and loves to hop up into DS's bed and jump under the blanket with him.

  • She points to letters that she can identify and says what they are (A, B, C, D, E, I, and O). She loves the "ABC" song, but she does not say it on her own, but will repeat some of the letters after us when we say them.

She points to most of the main outer body parts when asked. We usually do this while she's in the bath tub and she helps wash herself, too.

She has become a climber in the past week, which I think is going to give me gray hairs! She carries her stool over to place that she wants to climb.

She still does not talk much, but randomly pointed to my knee today and said "knee". I hope she talks more soon!

  • Owen started pointing out all of the upper case letters all of a sudden.  He has had one of those Leaptop things for a couple of weeks.  You ask a letter and he hits the button.  He also knows numbers 0-9 on a phone.  We were shocked.
