Maybe it's just my hormones that have made me overly aware of this, so I apologize at the mild-ridiculousness of this post.  

DH and I have always loved the name Lorenzo Donato (Donata is one of my middle names, and we just love the name Lorenzo, which is also a family name on my side).

It kind of sucks that Snooki named her son Lorenzo Dominic. As if the same first name wasn't bad enough, the second name also has the same initial. 

I don't even know if LO is a boy or a girl yet! -_-  I guess I just don't want it to seem like I copied off of this reality star in naming my son. Not that it matters...it's just kind of a sucky coincidence.

ESPECIALLY since I have been mistaken for Snooki MANY times in public...people have run up to me asking for autographs...it just gets old. And now this?! Give me a break!!! lol

No one will remember what that trash ho named her kid. Lorenzo is beautiful Italian name that withstands the test of time. Use it!

lol You're right. Like I said, I know this post is mildly ridiculous. I was in my OB's waiting room and I see this magazine with her picture on the cover with LORENZO DOMINIC in bold letters lol.

Lorenzo is an old name that has been around for a long time.  It's not like it's a "made up" name like Apple or Pilot.  Soon no one will even remember Snooki, let alone what her son's name is.  Don't let it bother you, and use the name anyway!! (if you have a boy at least...)

Thanks! If it's a boy (for some reason, intuition is telling me it is, although I'm kinda hoping for a girl!), I'm definitely going with Lorenzo .

FYI... If my life depended on it before I read this post, I couldn't tell you what Snooki named her baby. I don't think the average person doesn't care about Snooki.

I definitely would use it. I'm totally not Italian and would not use the name but I like it. When Snooki named her son that I gave her a big round of applause b/c it is an awesome strong name. With as goofy as she is I was not expecting her to do well in the name game. But that kid got lucky and his parents gave him a sold name. 

I goggled how to pronounce your maiden name b/c I usually need to hear it to say things totally correctly and the first thing that came up was 3 websites pronouncing Lorenzo De Medici. The one I clicked on was a thick Italian accent pronouncing it and I kept repeating it b/c it sounded so good!

Dude, before seeing tabloids in line at the grocery store I had no clue who she was, had already forgotten all about her and what she named the baby. I don't think the name is going to skyrocket and I bet she will disappear altogether pretty soon so hopefully you won't get fans running after you for much longer either. I bet by the time your baby is 1 no one will remember her or care that her baby is Lorenzo, which is an awesome name.

I was actually really surprised and impressed that Snooki gave her son such a good name. If I were Italian, I wouldn't let her stop me from using it. Plus, with your last name.. I mean.. it's amazing.

I would still use it. Lorenzo was on our list of names when we were Team Green. Lets face it, it us a pretty common Italian and Spanish name, so I don't think many will think you copied Snooki :.

I love Lorenzo and agree with all the others, no one will care or remember Snooki's kid's name. I assume you are familiar with the famous Renaissance Lorenzo de Medici -- aka Lorenzo the Magnificent? I think that connection is much more impressive than any Jersey reality show "star." And, if people were confusing me with snooki, I'd change my style pronto! Or at least lay off the tanning for awhile...

Your last name is BALLIN'! Ha! DH and I are Catholic and we went to Italy for our honeymoon. The Medici family is super famous and I think you OWE it to your kids to pass on some awesome Italian names now! Please pick something equally fantastic for your daughter. I love Cecilia, fwiw.
