Yeah, putting fitz before a first name commonly means that the child is born out of wedlock. I think you know what I am saying.
ETA: Just google-confirmed that I am not entirely correct. It seems that fitz-whatever was commonly used to differentiate between royal illegitimate children and heirs to the throne. So, pretty much not applicable to life today. Regardless, not something I'd want to saddle my kid with.

An excellent one Susan Ind.iana. There are states I would name a kid after Georgia, maybe Tennessee but definitely not if I lived in them. Indiana is not one of them.
Facebook names this week: Fitz.william Sean and Riv.er Grace periods added
Both born to the most traditional type families I know, which means there isn't much hope for the rest of humanity....
I don't get why you think this is so bad? How would humanity suffer from someone naming their child Fitz.william? I have prominant Irish ancestors whose last name was Fitzgerald. It used to be more common. IMO it's nicer than Dax which I keep seeing thrown around.

Fitz.william (no period) is Mr.Darcy's first name in Pride in Prejudice maybe they're big Austen fans.
I thought the "Fitz" thing in names meant that they were the "son of". Like how Henry the 8th named his bastard Fitzhenry.
I didn't know about it meaning "son of" I am 100% postive it's Mr Darcy's first name. It's also his cousin's LN so I've always assumed it was Mr Darcy's mother's maiden name.
