Leapfrog....leap pad and tag??

We bought DD a leap pad 2 and my mom just picked up the tag reading system. I realize there is a difference between the two but wondering if it's worth just doing one for now the tag and returning the leap pad. My husband and I both have iPads that she gets to use often. Anyone that has one or both, Id appreciate your thoughts! TIA!

    I definitely think the Tag Reader is a great product.

    I would keep the Tag and return the pad if you are OK with her using her iPad.  My girls love their Tags which they got last year or maybe 2 years ago at this point (I can't remember).  They use them a lot, especially my 4 almost 5 year old.  We have tons of games on our iPad and the girls got used iPods for Hanukkah a while back so we put stuff on their.  I love that we can update the games and movies for free or very little money vs the Leap Pad which you have to pay for every single game and they are not always cheap.  The iPods/iPads work really well and the kids love them.
