Hi guys! I'll be joining you here since my toddler is moving to 24 months in only 1 month now! But I had a question. I posted this on the toddler 12-24 months board, too, but maybe you all have more input for me!
Okay so let's talk about poop. We all know we do it with our
mom-friends. I just spoke with 2 of my parent friends today about their
kids poop because I am wondering if I should be concerned at all. My
son is 23 months and he has yet to have an actual solid poop. His poops
are like the consistency of kind of looser peanutbutter still. Not
loose stools at all, like not watery, but more paste-like. He has
alopecia, too, which is an autoimmune disease. I will be bringing the
poop issue up to his pedi on Monday. But in the meantime, does anyone
else have this issue? Oh I should also add that he does not drink from a
bottle or have formula or breastfeed anymore. He's been off of that
since he turned 1 and eats what we eat. So, strictly table foods.
Re: Coming to this board/poop
My LO is 26 months and rarely has solid (hard) poops. His poops are a little harder than peanut butter.
Do you give your LO juice? How much fruit does he get a day? How much of foods high in fiber?
Those are the things I would think about, but my LO still poops 3 times a day and its loose but that seems to be his norm.
The good news is that because he doesnt have to strain to poop, he did great potty training with poop.
He has maybe 4 oz of juice a day diluted in water. And he drinks 16 oz of whole milk a day. Foods high in fiber...of course feeding him is a huge fight, so it varies. He only poops once a day.
One of my friends mentioned that because he already has an autoimmune disease that it might be linked to that with celiac or something dumb. I'm hoping that isn't the case, but I was told he needs to be watched and possibly tested for other autoimmune diseases.
