Multiples

pressure?

I think I intro'd here when we found out we were expecting triplets, but haven't been able to get on to the computer. I'm currently on a zofran pump for HG, and now I can llok at the screen without feeling bad. Anyway, we had an appt with the perinatologist on Wednesday at 16.1 weeks. Everything looked good on the ultrasound, but today I started having a ton of pressure. No contractions just pressure. I don't know anyone in Real life with multiples, so I figured I would ask you ladies. Is it too soon for that? With DS I didn't start having this king of pressure until 34 weeks or so. I do know my fraternal is breech, and she is below the other two girls. Thoughts?

Re: pressure?

  • I had an episode of extreme pressure at approx 19 weeks and called my CNM's office... they had me go into my MFM's office for an u/s to measure my cervix length and to make sure I wasn't dilating...

I would call if I am were you, that is what they are there for.

  • I put in a call, the on call looked at my u/s from Wednesday and said it appeared long and closed. That it may be because baby C is breech it could just be putting a ton of pressure. If pressure was still there call back in the am.

  • i felt a lot of pressure when i was pg with my twins and it got really bad around 20 weeks or so.  i went to see my dr about it and she did an external ultrasound exam and i still felt uneasy and had her do an internal.  turns out there was some funneling (where the cervix starts to open on the inside) and was immediately put on modified bed rest.  anyway, my point is, better safe than sorry...i would call.
