Full Moon Births

Hey guys,

 Mom and I were comparing old wive's tales. Another one is that more babies are born on full moons rather than regular  days/nights. Got me thinking that my DD is at the tail end of the month and for the past few months, the full moon is during the last week; Within days of my DD. Does anyone know how much truth there is to this? I do have several family members that are full moon babes but I wasnt sure about everyone else.

    The baby is gonna be born when it wants to and is ready..full moon or not...

    My aunt is an L and D nurse. She says they notice an increase in women coming in during times the weather changes and there is a quick change in the barometric pressure.

    I wish that were true for me with DD. There was a full moon the week before my EDD but unfortunately I was a week overdue with her. I have heard of the delivery rooms being busier than normal during full moons though. Just didn't do anything for me. She didn't want to come out! Lol

    I was working at at call center in the summer/fall of 2001. Every time a baby was born or some other big news happened they would flash it on electric tickers that were all over the center so we would be updated. There was a HUGE increase of babies being born in late Sept. All those millenium conceptions Big Smile.

    I've also heard of huge upticks in the birth rate 9 months after snowstorms/power outages in areas like New York.

     BFP on Cycle 17 09/27/12. EDD 06/04/12! Please Stick Baby! A/S 01/22/13 Baby looking great. Officially TEAM BLUE! Jack is getting a Baby Brother! RCS scheduled for 05/29/13. William Daryll born at 9:59am on 05/29/13. Left ovary and tube removed due to peach sized tumor found during RCS. Pathology came back benign!

    I was born the day after the new moon.  This baby is due two days after the new moon in June.

    I have a full moon baby. I went into labor on my due date. I think the fact that I was 40 weeks pregnant and full term has more to do with it than the full moon.

    Lmao that's because sexing it up is all there is to do ;)  btw I'm from central/upstate NY area and this is a huge joke in hometown because we've seen it happen again and again... and again. You have to keep warm somehow!

    I've heard from friends and family that work in LD that they definitely notice an increase in births around a full moon. Of course baby has to be ready, but it does seen to make a difference
