Cloth Diapering

Oh no! So I prepped wrong fibers together!

What do I do? I prepped my grovia aio nb which is an organic cotton and requires five to six washes with all my lil joeys and FB!!! I am not sure what they are made of but only requires one washing. What do I do? Do I strip? If so, what is the best way? Also, do I have to wash them separately forever or just in the prepping process??

  • Natural fibers, like cotton, bamboo and hemp all have natural oils on them that make them less absorbent, which is why you need to prep them.  If you wash them with other MF diapers, the oils will transfer onto those diapers.

You only need to prep them separately, once prepped, you can wash them together. Its only during the prepping process that they should be separate.

I would continue prepping your cotton by itself. Those should be fine. I would just wash your lil joeys and FB a few more times to make sure you get the oils off. Good Luck!

  • I did that and I just separate them and washed the synthetic fibers a couple times to get any oils off. They were fine.
