Trouble TTC

Update: CD 12 monitoring

Update: Well, I guess my body decided for me because my OPK is positive today. If there's a next cycle, I'll take your trigger advice. Thank you!

I'm on my first medicated cycle this month and had my CD12 monitoring ultrasound today. As a refresher for those who don't know/remember me: we are doing Femara, TI, and progesterone supplements for now. Lining measured over 10mm. RE didn't comment about whether it was trilaminar and I forgot to ask. I had a couple of smaller follies and one big one measuring about 26mm by 19mm. RE thinks that will be the only one that ovulates and that she expects the egg in there to be mature now. My OPK was negative this morning, and I'll take one again tonight and tomorrow morning, but I don't get a positive by then, my RE wants me to email her. She's leaving it up to me but will offer a trigger shot if I want it, which I would administer tomorrow.Would you take the trigger for a TI cycle? She didn't seem overly passionate about taking it or not, but she did bring it up. Any other thoughts about my ultrasound results? I'm not having a ton of fertile CM, which I'm a little disappointed about. I hoped maybe the extra or bigger follies would help me produce more EWCM. ETA: formatting

Re: Update: CD 12 monitoring

  • Just my opinion, I would just to make sure you ovulate! Just because your LH surges does not always mean you will ovulate. If I was already on a medicated cycle I would want to give myself the best cycle I could and I believe that triggering would do that. Just my opinion I am newer at all this but from everything I have been through and have done I would take the trigger! GL FX this is your cycle!

  • I would absolutely use the trigger shot.  If you're going through all the other motions, I would do everything possible to make sure that your timing is perfect.

  • Yes, trigger.  We did our trigger shots with TI because that way we knew we would ovulate.  That way you're not doing the BD 17 days in a row and the follie gets a nice shove down the tube!
    Actively TTC since 01/11
Me: 06/12 Dx w/ IR PCOS (rx 2000 metformin) DH: SA all clear; looking good
    06/12-10/12- Clomid/Femara + trigger + TI + P4 = 3 BFNs, hysteroscopy, polypectomy, D&C
    11/12 - 7.5 mg Femara + trigger + IUI + P4 = BFN
    12/12 - Surprise BFP ectopic (MTX 01/13)
    04/13 - Off the Bench! 7.5 mg Femara + trigger + IUI #2 + estradiol + P4 = BFN
    05/13 Clear HSG-5 mg Femara + Menopur + trigger + IUI #3 + P4 = BFP ectopic (MTX 07/03 & 07/11)
07/23 emergency lap to remove ectopic mass and left tube
    10/13 5mg Femara + Menopur + trigger + TI(follie on left/no IUI)=BFN
11/13 Same as above but BFP!
    Beta #1 12dpo-51     Beta #2 15dpo-178

  • Yes! I'm sorta in the same boat as you except I'm doing clomid, TI, and progestrone. I trigged Tuesday night after my ultrasound showed a big follie too (27mm).  Good luck!
