Prefold sizing

Ladies with bigger babies, do you order your prefolds in sizes bigger to accomodate your bigger babe? DS weighs an estimated 17lbs and is almost 4mo. We use DiaperRite unbleached indian cotton prefolds and we have the size small. When he was much smaller we used them with a snappy but then we started to trifold/newspaper fold them into a cover because I found pocket love and primarily used those. Since he is a growing big boy, during the black Friday sale I ordered the next size up (medium) and when I got them they looked pretty big. If I trifold/newspaper fold they are a bit too long so he has tons of growing space that way, but when experimenting with different folds I discovered they dont wrap around him fully and the sides just barely meet. Would this would mean a size large would be better for those folds? It seems crazy to get a size large prefold for a baby not even 6months yet, right?

    Okay, thanks. I dont use them enough to be super worried. I was just curious.

    He'll also probably slim down as he gets older.
    When we trifold we use a GMD small. When we snappi we use a medium.
