Am I crazy, or...

Did my baby just talk? Yesterday when I was talking to our nanny DS reached out to her and said Hey! Now if anyone says hey to him, he says it back. Sometimes he says it randomly too. Is this just another sound he is working out? Or did he really say hey? What do you guys think? Yes I know it is way to early for him to be talking.

  • It could be another sound he's picked up and just repeats it when he hears it, but he might also understand. idk. My first word was hey. *shrug*

FWIF, my LO is saying "ma" right now and it MIGHT be wishful thinking but I think he's started to understand that I'm "ma" because when he cries and someone else has him he'll say "ma!" over and over until I pick him up, then he stops saying it.

That sounds more like talking than what we've got going on here. Who knows? I guess I'll find out if he keeps doing it at the right times.

  • Lo has been saying "Da-da" since Thanksgiving. It warms my SO's heart. Your LO could very well be saying hey, or just repeating a sound but either way it's something to be excited about! :)

  • Same here! My LO started saying "mama" this week but sometimes it's "mamamamamaaaaamama" hahah I know she doesn't know that I am "mama" but it still makes me happy.  So your LO saying "hey" I think is sorta the same way.  Just repeating what others are saying to him.

  • Mine started doing the dada noise. Repeating in constantly Lol. She literally just started doing it. I was wondering when she would start it. I'm sure she will say dada before mama
