I don't see where Klondike has posted anywhere about the Christmas Light Vandals. I was just wondering if they got to catch them on video last night or not...

It's been a long morning. DD was hurt last night at her game and we didn't think it was serious. I had to take her to the doc this morning b/c it got worse overnight. I didn't have a chance to review the video until later.

We were hit again last night. It was some young kids from a street behind our development. We chose not to involve any type of authorities. They didn't like it when we asked them to clean up after their dog when walking it in our development this summer. We're weren't even mean about it. If you walk your dog, you don't let it poo all over the sidewalks and just leave it there. That was the excuse they gave for cutting our lights. Their mom was mortified when I stopped over and showed her the video. The kids are homeschooled so they were actually there at the time and owned up to it pretty fast.

She offered to reimburse us for the lights, told me the kids would be grounded and assured me that she will be changing their alarm code so the children can't sneak out without it going off. We exchanged phone numbers. That's the extent of it. I really thought it was going to be some assholesteens, but these kids are 10 and 11.

And wow, I would have figured older kids as well.  At least you figured out who it was though.

I'm sorry about your DD. I hope she recovers quickly.

Yeesh. I'm glad y'all figured out who was doing it, even though it was just some youngsters. That's sad. Hopefully their mom explains to them that what they did was criminal and they learn from it.

Hopefully tonight is much better.

oh jeeze, that's not the outcome I was expecting either. At least the mom totally took ownership for her kid's mistakes and didn't try to cover for them KWIM? At least you've got the situation cleared up and can enjoy christmas from here on out once you have your lights in working order! yay!

Thanks for the well wishes for DD. She fought against a cast on her dominant hand so she has a removable brace on. She started tonight and scored 18 points. I didn't think she was going to play. She is one tough cookie with a great 3 point shot.

Oh and toast does sound good maybe with some cinnamon and sugar on it.

lol One of them looks like the kid from Problem Child. I think he was the mastermind and his younger brother was along for the ride.
