My son is 2 weeks old today. I just started him in real cloth on Monday. We have a few different diapers in this size, but he has leaked out of almost all of them. I know that some of them aren't fitting well, but others he just soaks through in under an hour. During the day I check often and he still leaks. At night, as soon as I get him down he's wet and I have to change him. He's a pretty heavy wetter I guess. . Last night I just put him back in a g diaper with a disposable liner. No problems. Am I just a moron, or is this a common newborn issue? I have g diapers, a cocalo perfect fit, and a thirsties wrap with prefolds...

Re: Leaking everywhere!
I've never used g daipers or cocalo diapers, but fit is everything. If you have gaps in the legs, you're going to have problems.
Since your son is only 2 weeks old, you'll need to change him every 1.5-2 hours, and whenever he wakes at night.
Cloth should fit snug to the skin, no gaps. Put the diapers on him, lift and bend his legs, make sure the diaper stays snug to the leg and doesn't gap.
Where is he leaking? Is it in the same spot for all diapers?
Also with G-Diapers I think you need a plastic liner when you don't use the disposable insert. But I maybe wrong, I've never used them before.
I've never used gdiapers or the cocalo diapers either.
With prefolds and covers though you need to make sure that all the cloth is inside the cover first so there is no wicking. Also like the pp mentioned you need to make sure that the cover is snug around the legs and there is no gaping when you bend the legs.
Also how much does your LO weigh, do you have the thirsties cover snapped to the smallest rise setting?

I'm sorry you're having leak issues!! I haven't CD'd a newborn (yet) but this blog post found in the FAQs seems to be helpful in regards to different dipes on NB's. https://theecofriendlyfamily.com/2009/09/cloth-diapering-newborn/
Also with any CD baby (newborn or otherwise) what works well for one may not work at all for another. A lot of it just has to do with trying something and if it works for you, get more and if it doesn't, sell and replace them with something else.
GL to you!!
