Cloth Diapering

Kawaii baby

Does anyone use this brand? Kawaii baby! I've heard good things about these cloth diapers! They absorb quickly and inserts are made from bamboo instead of microfiber! I'm only 15weeks pregnant but I dont want to buy tons of different brands. I'm gonna try to stick with one if I can!

Re: Kawaii baby

  • I don't use this or any of the Chinese brands who aren't public about their working conditions.

  • A lot of people love Kawaii.  I personally did not.  They were the last of the many brands of CD's that I tried to fit my son well, and I found the snaps to be really tight and difficult to close.  I also didn't think the materials were as nice as other brands.  That being said, I know I am in the minority because I've heard mostly good things from other parents.

I definitely recommend trying out different brands before settling on one.  Every brand fits a little differently so you really won't know what works best for your baby until you actually have your baby.  There are a couple of companies that do diaper trials so that may be something to check out if you don't want to buy a lot of different brands.  Jillian's Drawers is a popular one.

  • I love my kawaiis!!! Them are most of my stash. I like them for nighttime the best next to my fitteds, too. I think they are the best quality compared to any other diaper I have.

  • I haven't used anything yet, but right now my stash consists of BG (Freetime and 4.0), Kawaiis (a few different kinds plus PN for newborn stage), and Alvas.

  • I have 2 Kawaiis. One was free. I like the ones I have for nighttime but my daytime. They are huge on my DD. They work well for her but they aren't my preferred diaper.

I totally second trying a few different brands before you settle on one kind.

I hate the fit of every kawaii I've tried b Now that I've found out about the print theft I'm glad I don't use them.

  • During the day we now use all pockets (we use to use prefolds as well). 1/2 of my stash is Bumgenius and 1/2 Kawaii. I like them both. The Kawaii fit my daughter better than BG, but they both are great -Now that that she has gotten bigger. The Bumgenius would just not adjust right on her before and would leak so the Kawaii's use to be my favs, but now they both are great.

So I am a fan of the Kawaii diapers especially for the price! For us, they work pretty much at par with the BG diapers. I do think that the BG diapers are better made and will hold up longer. I do wonder if the Kawaii diapers will last through a second or third child. I hope they will.

I bought the bamboo Minky Kawaii diapers and I did NOT like them. The INSERTS are GREAT and I actually use mostly bamboo inserts with the pocket diapers, but the bamboo lining of the bamboo Kawaii Diapers was way too rough for my DD.

I'm also NOT a fan of the Kawaii diapers with velcro. IMO the Kawaii velcro is cheap and quickly becomes worthless. So we have all snaps.

  • I have four of them right now and I like all of them.  I use them at night too.  My LO slept 12 hrs straight one night and I had zero leaks with my Kawaii I had on him.  I had a hemp and microfiber insert in it.  I have heard they run larger than other brands.  I didn't start CD'ing until my LO was about 5 months old and he's a big baby so they fit him great.

  • I don't like my kawaii, but I love my alvas and they are cheaper! I agree that you should try a few different types. My lo is long and lean and the kawaii seem too bulky
  • I use kawaii minkey for our overnight diapers, and I had a bunch of pure and naturals in my newborn stash.  I think they are a great pocket diaper.
