Late Term and Child Loss

Can anyone help?

I recently lost my baby girl at 36 weeks.. And as if that's not hard enough to be dealing with.. I just sarted my second period. And have been on it now for 11 days instead of it getting lighter it has been getting heavier.. Has this happend to anyone else? I've got to call my dr as soon as they open..

Re: Can anyone help?

  • Thank you.. I called my doctor and his office is closed, because he is moving his practice.. And I'm not comfortable going to the other OB in my town because what they did to a friend of mine...
I kind of had the feeling Maybe that's what wa happening.. But I've always had a very normal easy cycle. And now this?
  • I am so sorry for the loss of your baby girl. I bled for about 7 weeks after my daughter was born and then had a period two weeks later. Cycles can be off for a while after birth but it's a good idea to call your doctor if you would like some reassurance that everything is normal. Maybe they can do an u/s to check what's going on with your lining.

ETA: just saw your note about your doctor. Do you have insurance? I know with my insurance they have a 24/7 nurses line you can call for information and advice. Maybe they could give you some peace of mind or help you figure out if you should go get checked out?

  • I can't help since I didn't experience what you are describing, but I wanted to say sorry for your loss.

  • I do have insurance I actually have two.. I have never had to call the 24/7 nurses.. I dont even know how I would find out the number for them.. This is just very stressful and I have no idea what Im supposed to do.. The other OB are family doctors, my OB was the only one in our area that is Board Certified.. So Im really iffy on the others
  • I'm so very sorry for your loss.  After our loss my periods were very heavy and painful for the first two months.  It sounds relatively normal to me, but I would call the doctor just to ease your mind.  I hope you get some answers soon.  T&P for you tonight!

Hmm. The number for mine is actually on the back of my insurance card. Or do they have a website you could log in to? I'm sorry, we all know how difficult it is to find energy or focus on things after a loss like this.
