Post-ER/Pre-ET meds can suck it

I have no idea what is causing me to feel like utter crap since ER, but I hope it's something I'm about to stop taking.  I feel like I have morning sickness already, and it's pissing me off.  I can't figure out what I want to eat that will make me feel better, but I do know it's carb-filled, which sabotages my low carb diet, which I've been doing to take off as much remaining baby weight as possible while I can.

I took my last Medrol pill last night (so long, middle of the night peeing!), and will take my last antibiotic today.  I don't remember either of those making me feel queasy, so I am thinking it's the cabergoline, which I am taking to preemptively combat any OHSS I might encounter, per RE's orders.

There's also the estradiol (taken vaginally) and the progesterone shots, but again I don't think (certainly hope not) that those are causing it.  I need to remember to ask the nurse when I can stop the cabergoline, because I am thinking that's it.  I forgot to ask both times I spoke with her yesterday, because I was so focused on my report and scheduling my ET for tomorrow.

ARGH, I'm just not a happy camper.  Sorry to keep venting, but I can turn into a guy when I don't feel well.  Now I get to go power through and get some work done.

  • I have been slightly nauseous, but I figure it is the prenatal vit plus the other million pills I have been taking.  I am so ready to be done with all these drugs!  I posted above that I am battling constipation.  Oh so sexy.

  • I had the opposite problem after ER.  Luckily it only lasted the first day, but I was not amused!  We'll see what joys tomorrow brings, haha!

  • GRRRR!! This really does feel just like MS (which I wouldn't mind much at all if that's what it actually was).  I know eating will make me feel better, but the thought of food makes me nauseous, and I really just want to vomit so I'll feel better, knowing that it likely won't make me feel better if I do.

I hate this damned if I do, damned if I don't feeling.  Normally when I don't feel well, there is something I can do for it and I do it.  This, on the other hand, I can't do much about other than ride it out.  I just want to go home and get in bed.  Crying

  • Speaking of progesterone shots....I started mine last night and it is a first for me.  Did your RE's office draw circles on your bum to know where to stick it?  Mine said they would and never did, so my dh just went off the diagram on the instruction sheet.  Hopefully it was right!  Am I supposed to be sore from it?  It actually didn't hurt going in...although I was terrified of that never ending needle!  But I'm not gonna lie....I'm a little tender today!

Transferred 1 beautiful embryo and 5 made it to freeze. Got my BFP! January 2013 u/s showed empty gestational sac. • Yes, the nurse drew the circles.  They did it last time too, but I was sure to ask this time just to be sure.  You'll have to keep redrawing them though, because even if you use permanent marker, it will start to fade from bathing.

The actual shot doesn't hurt, but I had been forgetting to rub it in to help it disperse and I already have a few knots, so take a lesson from me on that one if they didn't already tell you  They told me and I forgot.  Heat is also good for it, but I take my shot first thing in the morning, then I'm off to take care of DD and go to work, so no time.

Overall, these shots are not that bad, it just becomes a pain when you have to do it for 8 weeks and your entire butt is sore, knotted, and bruised!

Kimber, do you get another embie update today?

Yes! I should get an update today...I'm GLUED to my phone! I keep having terrible irrational thoughts like none of them have made it. I actually made it almost all day yesterday not feeling the anxiety and then when I was laying in bed I was tossing and turning thinking of all these bad thoughts. I really hope they call me earlier rather than later...

  • I'm looking forward to hearing a good report from you and girlieface today.  I need the distraction of others doing well to get through the next 24 hours.  I'm still waiting on a call from my clinic to tell me what time I go in tomorrow, so frustrating.

I hope you get your call very soon.  Please post and update once you do!

For sure!  My dh thinks I'm crazy for being so involved in this board...but it's the only thing keeping me sane right now!  I literally have nobody that I know that has been through this!

My DH got over it a LONG time ago, he has actually been asking about "New Orlean's girl"!  I have been comparing us to him this whole time and since ER he has been interested in you and girlie too!  I have made some wonderful friends on here and some of them have turned into FB and then IRL friends too!  I think it is SO important to have this support group and 100% agreed that waiting for yalls updates makes the time pass a little faster!
