Question for runners...

CK used to LOVE to go for long runs in the BOB.  Lately, however, she lasts about 15 minutes before she starts pitching a fit.  I've tried toys, snacks, etc., but nothing will keep her content.  It's driving me CRAZY because my only time to run during the week is right after I pick her up from school, and now I dread going because it's a whole start-stop-start-stop-try-something-else-to-get-her-to-shut-the-eff-up routine.

Anyone else?  Any suggestions?

Also, Colleen (just because I know you'll read this), did you ever get/try the Bundle Me?

Re: Question for runners...

  • Of course I read it!  I didn't get the Bundle Me yet. I was just thinking about it yesterday actually.  I never made it down to BRU, but it is on my list of things to do!

Sharks had suggested stroller books, so I ended up getting one and she loves it!  I didn't get the snack tray for the BOB yet, but's on my list as well.

Honestly, I bring a binky with me in case she throws a fit. She doesn't always, but sometimes at the end of a long run she will get antsy and start wriggling around and crying, and we are still 1.5-2 miles from home, so the binky calms her down until we get back. I know I can't use that forever, but right now I've still been giving it to her at the end of our runs. It's the only time she still uses it and it's been a last resort sort of thing.

  • He's usually completely fine for 45min. We use the paci as well, as long as he has that or snacks most of the time he's fine for the whole run.  For longer runs I have to make sure I run by the house in case I need to drop him off and finish the run alone.

  • Stopping in to let you know that we use a Bundle Me and it is great for running. We'll also use it for daily stuff as it gets colder in the next few months.
  • As Colleen mentioned, I'm a huge fan of the stroller books.  Ronin loves them-I can do a 1-1.5 hour run/walk with him just flipping through that book.  Good luck!

  • We don't run but walk Shadow twice a day for an hour. He gets a stroller toy and the paci. Aside from the carseat the only place he gets that and he is always fine.
