Cloth Diapering

When do you buy a sprayer?

So do you only really need/use the sprayer when the baby starts on solids or should I buy one right away before the baby is born?

  • That depends on whether or not you're anal about rinsing. Newborn poop is water soluble so you don't need to spray it. I always rinse my poopy diapers if they're going to be in the pail longer than 24 hours. That's my personal preference, though.

  • After 2 in CD?s I?ve never had a sprayer.  I just soak, dunk and swirl in my laundry room potty.  If some remains I rinse it in my utility sink.  It?s your personal preference if/when you want/need one.  If we had one it might be used as a weapon to drench siblings, dogs or daddy.  LOL!

  • I bought a sprayer about 2 weeks before I started DD on solids...no issues before then...
